    From www.nbadraft.net

They have Houston picking as follows

    13. Troy Murphy 6-11 240 PF Notre Dame Jr
    18. Vladimir Radmanovic 6-9 SF (Yugoslavia) 1980
    23. Alvin Jones 6-11 257 C Georgia Tech Sr.

I just don't see them picking Murphy at 13, unless they intend to package him elsewhere.

Why don't you see them picking Murphy at #13?

I don't know if I speak for tariq Doc, but I don't see it happening because I think the Rocks will resign Mo, whether or not they get Webber, and they will keep Kenny Thomas. With a log jam at the PF spot Troy Murphy wouldn't get much playing time unless he is able to make a big impact right away. I think Mo will have a better NBA career then Troy Murphy, and Kenny Thomas has shown himself to be a very good backup.

    Doc,

Troy Murphy, in my opinion, is a player similar to Jason Collier. We already have a center with a mid-range jumper. What we truly need is a bruiser inside. Besides, I certainly think the Rockets can do better with the 13th pick

Murph is noy a center, Tariq.

He is a 3/4 (but only a three if he continues to chisel down and gain quickness, as he has already started doing.

ransom money, nothing to break or barter but my life

nothing else to shove under the nose of the maƮtre de jeu
nothing to thrust out the window, no white flag
this flesh all I have to offer, to make the play with
this immediate head, what it comes up with, my move

    (we hope) between the lines

Murphy isn't quick enough, fast enough, nor athletic enough to play the 3 spot. The reason Mo could play the SF spot should we get Webber is that he doesn't need the block to operate, he is capable of putting the ball on the floor and exploding to the basket somewhat similar to what Charles Barkley used to do. Murphy doesn't have those characteristics.

If Murph is a true 3, I could see the Rockets taking him. I prefer Jefferson though.
