Link doesn't work unless you copy and paste. By the way, I interned there this summer and 99% of the people there are great human beings. Don't let that get in the way of you smearing all of them because of the actions of a few!
Not saying that at all & you're not the only one with insight into the DA's office. The place is a mess at the moment. Couple that with the HPD Crime Lab issues and, well, there you go... I don't know whether it's 99% or 75% or 50%. There are a lot of good, dedicated, brilliant people in the DA's office. There are also a lot of morons, racists and folks more concerned about pursuing political glory than justice. The sort of atmosphere that engenders this crap starts at the top and filters its way down through the ranks. It's also just another example of the "good ol' boys" attitude that is pervasive there.
Yes. Read the comments section as well if you have the time. The former DA's comment defending the guy who sent the email by saying he had stood up for the other former DA who complained about the "Canadian" comment is just priceless. The guy who sent the email also tries to escape criticism by blaming it all on his charge, the guy he was congratulating in the e-mail! Talk about throwing someone under the bus - **** really does roll down hill.
My two favorite parts of the whole series of issues with Chuck Rosenthal. 1. He gave his secretary a raise that kicked in last week. The raise was for $11,000 a year in additional salary. Her new salary: $90,000 / year. 2. He won't resign because if he sticks it out until the end of the term his retirement gets way bigger.
Actually, I'm half hispanic (no ? needed). Yeah the guy at the top of the DA's office is an idiot. He's just a politician. The rest of the prosecutors (the people who actually do the work) are generally very good people.
