It has been a long time since I remember it being this tough being a Houston sports fan. I know the Astros just made it to the World Series, but the Texans are terrible and the Rockets look like they are about to enter the Greg Oden sweepstakes. IMO, it is especially tough when you have high expectations for your teams. Any thoughts...

I would have to totally agree..... It almost seems like the years when we have huge expectations, it turns out disastrous. No one really expected anything from the Astros last season, and look at what happened.

Giving up on the Rox already? Wow. I thought the Astros season would have Houston fans never giving up on a team early in the season...

Um, it kind of kicks ass to be a Houston sports fan right now.

The Astros just made it to the World Series, the Texans are a sore spot that will heal (it's the NFL, a 1-15 team can go to the superbowl next year), and the Rockets will be fine.. stop panicking.

The thing that makes the Texans and Rockets seasons so difficult to bear so far this year is that we just came off a magical season with the Astros, and everyone expected both the Texans and the Rockets to be significantly better than they have been. I was thinking Western Conference contenders for the Rockets and potential playoff participants for the Texans (before preseason). For both teams to come out playing the way they have...very disappointing.

I have not given up on the Rockets just yet, heck, I still watch every Texans game and Rockets game. I guess the part that is just so frustrating is that I expexted the Rockets to start out fast. Even if we had struggled, I would have never expected 3-10. As for the Texans, well I dont think anyone thought this was going to happen. That being said, I still love my Astros,Rockets, and Texans. Here is to hoping the Rockets have an Astros-like turnaround. I believe.

Greg Oden's not coming out this year. He'll be out in 2007.
