I can't believe my eyes when I first read this (from another thread). Can someone verify this? I always believed that Rudy has a control of this team even though a lot of people on this board said otherwise (my feelings are always like fans are just fans). But c'mon, Rudy, what are you doing there? You have the job security, why can't you just f*** the players if they don't listen to you?
Did Rudy say that he gave up on trying to make them run, or that it will just take longer? It's not like coaches can just 'fire' players. If coaches made it a capital offense everytime there was a disagreement/conflict, you'd never have any stability on the team. Players would come and go weekly. At some point the disgreements can become critical. I don't think we're even close to that...yet. This team lost 4 in a row after winning 8 of 10. It's young; there will be both winning and losing streaks, ups and downs. I see no indications that the coach has 'failed' because this team's record is not materially different than what anyone should have predicted at the start of the season.
I really question whether Rudy can coach these guys, he doesn't command their respect, and it shows in the crappy way that Steve and Mobes play. It may be time for a change. This team needs a Bill Fitch type coach. DD
I can't believe an adult would attack me personally for the title of a thread. But again, why the heck am I supposed to know that. Peace. Shrimpie P. S. Cohen, I didn't mean that Rudy should fire the player for not trying to run, I meant that four-world-letter. To me, Rudy is way too nice to his players. I once heard him talking the improvement in this year's defense and he attributed that to the fronting defense by Yao and Taylor, then he said Rockets couldn't do this before because Hakeem and Charles wouldn't front their opponents (even though he asked them to do that). Can you believe this?
Believe me Shrimpie, you got off light. Plus if this thread is in response to another thread, you should've posted there. Just trying to save you some embarrassment....
Thanks, AB. I know the protocal here. But I feel this deserves its own thread. The game thread is full of craps. Besides, the point here is I feel that Rudy has lost his team and he even accepted that as a fact. To me, that is a big deal. I don't feel embarrased for speaking up my mind even though it may be wrong. Shrimpie
i won't question passion for your opinion, but pleeeeez come up with a better title next time, we Houstonians are sick of that one!
Some players are just uncoachable. Steve and Cat may be two of them. But Rudy can't just blame the players for the loss. WTF was he hired for? IMO, Rudy should go. Pat Reily and his disciplined style of offense will suit me just fine now.
Pat would be a great choice. He has worked w/ great centers before and he dose'nt have a problem Bietch Slapping his players...
