Specifically, between the hours of 6 and 8 am, more specifically, from the 610 West Loop to the North Loop, to I45 North, til just before the Beltway. Does anyone by any chance go this direction or at least on just I45 or something. I haven't the slightest idea what kind of traffic is on I45 in that direction, and I have to start driving that way Monday and yeah, I don't want to be late. I also do not want to have to leave my house at 5am in order to be on time. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
There's no VERB on the first sentence. I was afraid you were just going to talk and talk without making sense, but then I read the second paragraph, and you're on to something... who would've believed... But, ummm... no, I couldn't help you. Looks like you'll be going through a factory-riddled truck-driver area of town, but I can't tell you how it will be...
Since you are going against traffic, shouldnt take you too long, especially once you get N past the i-10/610 interchange. I'd say 30 -40 mins max.
Ok since we are asking about traffic. What's the best way to get from Sugar Land to 290 & Hollister on a Friday evening between 5:30-6:30? Usually, I'd take 59N-Beltway N- 290, exit Hollister. But whoa, 290 rush hour is almost as bad as 610! Oh, and what about from Sugar Land to 1960 & Veterans Memorial. If anyone needs any Sugar Land shortcuts, let me know.
59N to Beltway is your best route to get to Hollister 290. Sugarland to 1960/VM: 59N to Beltway N exit Bammel N. Houston. Bammel N. Houston will cut over diagonally to Veterans Memorial and 1960 will be a couple of blocks away. Just dont take Beltway to Veterans Memroail to 1960. Thats the scenic route.
Specifically, I travel from Bellaire to The Woodlands every day in this direction. In the morning, you'll sometimes get clogs at the Galleria and I-10, but it's always straight shooting after that. If your start point is at the Galleria, it will take roughly 25 minutes/day, give or take a couple.
Houston traffic isn't that bad...Dallas traffic sux azz... When I first moved here, I was so amazed by all the gridlock...And besides, Dallas drivers suck...
I drive I-45 North from Tidwell to the Beltway every day. Between 8 and 9 there are no slowdowns at all. I don't think you'll encounter any problems on 45 going against traffic. On the way home is a totally different story.
This should help You can find out real time traffic and what the speeds were for different segments of freeways at all times of the day.
Awesome, thanks everyone. I'm planning on leaving about 6:30 anyway, since I have to be there at 7:45, and well, first day, gotta be prepared for the worst. Once I get used to the traffic, I'll adjust and anyway, it won't be for long, as I'll be relocated closer to my house once the new Fry's open's on 59/W.Belfort.
I wouldnt rely to heavily on Transtar. I work near the galleria until about 8pm and have to drive home via 290. They have been working on 290 in various spots everynight, resulting in at least 30 minutes of bumper to bumper. Transtar says speeds are 60-70 mph through the construction areas. I relied on transtar last night and ended up stuck on the road.
