Had so much fun coming up with a new logo and jersey for the Rockets decided to try my hand at the Astros. I like the current partial star but I have never really liked the script logo and doing away with the "H". Trying to do something that brings back the classic blue and orange color, the "H" and reasserts Houston's identity as Space City instead of just doing another old timey baseball look. If I can find some uniform templates might take a crack at how these look on a uniform. Any other great ideas out there regarding redoing Houston team logos?
I like the first one, but maybe with a different "H". The H in the second one looks like an X. I do like the direction, though. Brings back some of what made Houston baseball stand out.
If they were to make any tweaks to the logo...I think the only thing I'd like to see is the addition of the Texas outline....which is more of an alternate logo right now but wouldn't mind it as the main. Or go back to the 90's style but with current colors.
I admit that the Star Trek logo was in my mind for the first one. Part of the space city theme. Hadn't really thought of Shuriken but had the Air Force Logo more in mind.
The Rockets logo may need tweaking (read: overhaul), but the logos for the Astros and Texans are really good. I wouldn't want to see either changed.
While I actually really like the current Astros logo and uniforms (except the red shirt Sunday combo since I think colored jerseys look softball), I really like the old school look of the this.
I'd be giddy if they went back to a variation of this. Just a clean classic look that would fit well with MMP. I don't really have an issue with the current ones but they don't stand out either. The pinstripe mid-week jerseys are just to busy for me, prefer the Saturday jerseys a lot more. I also miss this version of the current jerseys, they stopped wearing them in the early 2000s but always thought they looked very nice.
I agree. A modern version of these unis would be nice. Another idea I've had for awhile now, is to keep the current look, but change the colors to the blue, and orange.
