This was the year for the return of the glory days of UH football - loaded with talent, All American QB-----crash and burn. This was the year for the Texans to finally be relevant, to make the playoffs, excited all summer, could hardly wait, right? ------mediocrity. Ahh, the Rockets, the return of Yao, the league's deepest team, maybe they give LA run, right, can hardly wait through a summer that lasted forever, right?------sinking fast. I am just tired. There is one thing that you count on being a Houston sports fan.....disappointment, and a bunch of it.
Hope to God that history repeats itself and brings glory back to Houston circa 94-95. That would make all this pain worth it.
Shaping up to be the worst year in Houston sports history. This city is proof positive that there is no such thing as karma. The pendulum only swings one way.
You guys set yourself up for this every year. Every year you get excited because of minor changes to the line-up and overhyped expectations and get disappointed when they don't materialize. First off, this season is hardly over, we haven't even play 10% of the games in a 5 month season. 2nd of all, did anyone expect Yao to come back dominating? Really? Did you expect this team, which struggled to finish .500 last year, to magically be better because we have....Brad Miller? It's the same freakin team as last year. The play hasn't really been all that different, I see most of the same stuff. I always scratch my head at the pre-season exuberance. I still think this team will win and do well once Yao returns to form.
Man, we all feel the same. I don't know if this will make you feel better, but I still believe the ones that are most disappointed and hurt after such a start should be the rockets players, coaches and the management.. after all, they are the ones working, we are just onlookers. but anyway, I am really hurt just like you, tired of all the bashing here, i understand lots of people are just venting, not really meaning anything, i guess focus on our normal lives and jobs would be able to sooth you a little bit, take care man.
the ratio of expectations to results is the worst it's ever been I may have to swear off Houston sports for awhile, too depressing
