We just beat the 1st place Cardinals and narrow the gap to 3. Why is there no articles yet on us?

Every game St.Louis plays gets covered very well. NOT THIS SERIES!

    Something is up.

I hate to tell you this, but if this is news to you, you're in for a lot of disappointment.

Because of our history with second half runs and we're only 3 games out. I would think it would be an easy story to write. I think if we win today they MIGHT do a story on us.

Buster Olney talked about this stuff in an article the other day.

A few weeks back, Eric Young on Baseball Tonight predicted the Astros would win the Central

I saw both of those. The other day I was listening to one of the ESPN radio channels on Sirius, and they were talking buyers and sellers with Buster or Jason Stark. The show was hosted by Eric Kasillias(however you spell the guys name). They got to the Astros and Eric called them the team nobody wants to talk about and all of a sudden you look and they are right there. I'm happy the team continues to fly a bit under everyones radar. All of sudden the rest of baseball is going to be worried about the Astros in Late September/October.

Eric However You Spell His Name lost me forever when he said that Biggio didn't seem like a Hall of Famer to him because he was never one of the best players in the game at any point during his career.

I vomited. I just did again remembering it.

I guess being considered top 10 second baseman of all-time by many isn't good enough. Unquestionably being the in the top 3 2B of his era. It is only more impressive that he he was an all-star at catcher before becoming a gold glove 2B, which Jeff Kent never was.

    2. Craig Biggio
    3. Jeff Kent

If you want the national media to talk about your team, become a fan of the Yankees, Red Sox, Dodgers, Cubs, Braves(never understand why they are always on national TV), or Cards.

While we're on the topic -- Berkman was supposed to be on Rome is Burning, but I guess it didn't go down. Rome announced it at the end of the first segment but the show ended with no Berkman to be found!

I love the Stros, Rox and Texans but hate to say this but there not Sexy teams!

Astros have never been a national draw except when they had Andy and Roger along with the RJ trade. The only time the national media looks at the Stros is when Puma and Roy speak up about riods just the way it is. Id say this you take Albert off the Cards and they would get NO attention but to be fair Albert is having an all time great year! Remember when Barry left the Giants they disappeared off the planet till this year. Rox are the sexiest team we have with Yao and TMAC along with a good history of iconic players like Pippen, Clyde, Barkley and Malone in the 80s however remember when it was just Dream and great role players...it wasnt till we got Clyde/Barkley that we became a regular on NBC and TNT/TBS. Texans havent won so its no point in pumping them up honestly even though we are about to be an above avg team most people look at them as an expansion team along with a W on there schedule.

I would have to disagree on the Texans. They've gotten quite a bit of coverage and respect the past couple of years and even moreso this year with some predicting us to win the South.

Really? Il be honest I do hear a few predictions about winning the AFC South but besides the Monday night game last year and the Thursday night game in 07 we dont get much love on the national scene and also very few 3pm games except for a few thanks to the Hurricane last year. Unless they play a power we are never a top highlight on the post game shows. I know there getting MORE attention but still not enough to be considered respected in my book.

For some reason, football coverage strikes me as less biased than baseball and basketball. Perhaps it's because of the excess coverage the sport gets for only having 1 game per week per team.

Basketball is the most skewed with heavy favoring towards Kobe/LeBron/Wade. Even the Spurs get no respect despite continually winning championships and constantly contending.

I've found the ESPN baseball analysts to be pretty even keeled, myself. The coverage on SportsCenter is skewed, but on Baseball Tonight they typically give the Astros their due even if it's in passing comments.

funny you say that, because aside from Young (who's relatively new to that group) i'd say they're pretty biased against the 'stros. i have friends who aren't from here and who aren't astros fans who say, "how can you watch that show when they hate your team that much?"

my reply is that i wouldn't have to watch that show if Uverse could get off its ass and put MLB Network on.
