Are we trying to convert our team to the NY Knicks for JVG? Screw Patrick Ewing, Camby, Sprewell! Keep this team as the Rockets and not the Knicks!

More like Houston Rockets = Dirty Southeast. In Yao's case, far East.

No, the Rockets have far more talent. However, if JVG can get this team to overachieve like the Knicks, GREAT.

I guess Miami Heat = LA Laker(Riley), Dallas= NY Knicks (Nelson) ...
I believe if the situation/players is different, the coach will make change accordingly.

I'm just surprised so many people think we suddenly will get all these Knick players just because Van Gundy is a coach.

I agree. Why does everyone think we're getting all these Knicks. Those guys were overrated when Van Gundy forced them to play harder several years ago, now they're only older and less athletic. Why in the world would he want to take on the guys that led him to leave coaching?

Was the Spree trade to the Rockets on ESPN Insider. If thats a little true that concerns me.Keep Spree an the whole team. Use the guys you have and make trades around the lg that can help. I don't think CD will make that mistake of turning the Rockets into the Knicks.

Exactly, just because an ex - coach comes to a new team, doesn't make the ex-players join him for some magically reason.

there are no players on the current knicks besides a healthy Antonio McD. that would help his team out.

I don't think that it's necessarily who we might get from the Knicks. I think it's more about who we already have in place to make the East coast connection\ assumptions.
    1. Steve Francis
    2. Cuttino Mobley
    3. Eddie Griffin
    4. Terrence Morris
    5. Yao Ming ( far East) ;)

It does make it more of a possibility. A coach liking certain players he's coached before. The fact that NY has veteran players in the positions we are trying to upgrade at. It could happen.

    1/100 more possible?

It's so funny that these people are so misinformed about this type of stuff.

Why would we need 2 players who are going to want the ball? Isn't that what we have in Mobley, Francis, and Ming?

Spree and Big Dog are going to want the ball everytime down the floor. That would leave little opportunity for Ming and Francis to do anything except stand around.

Well, we're already not really the Rockets anymore, may as well become the Knicks.

Imagine the size of that humble pie when Gundy gets the team into the second round next year and to a ring around 2 years later? I just can't believe that people on this board do not know a very good coach when they see one. They would rather have Dunleavy who underachieves with tons of talent than Gundy who overachieves with players like Marcus Camby (where is he now and how good is he after he left Gundy). Amazing. I wonder what they would of said if Brown would be our coach? It was all Allen Iverson missing practice that got him to the finals?

Get da whip cream, boys. Its gonna be delicious.
