I'm dead serious about it. Just sent a request to a news reporter at Channel 13.

After seeing this crap with Tennessee wearing our stuff, I think we screw Bud by retiring OUR guys jerseys.

Bring 'em in, do a ceremony, etc.

We have OUR guys having to sit around and get no recognition for their efforts. You think anyone in Nashville gives a crap about Campbell? Moon? It's a travesty.

If some crappy Tennessee player can put an Oiler jersey on, then we can retire players and their #'s with a Texan Jersey on. A big F! U! to Bud and the NFL's audacity to take our team AND name away.

I'm getting angrier and angrier that Earl isn't even able to get the respect of Hakeem.

My poll is would you sign this?

The Oilers and their history left and will never return.

We didn't get a Cleveland Browns deal.

    Sucks, but live with it.

I think the Texans should do a Ring of Honor like the Cowboys do for Houston football legends. Seems like a great way to get around the retired numbers issue, plus guys like Campbell, Moon, Bethea, Munchak can finally get the recognition they deserve.

uh, no. those players were never "Texans". they'll have a special place in my memories but i don't want to have anything to do with the former Oilers.

Every 3 years a Titans/Texans game deciding who owns the rights to the Oilers for the next 3 years should take place. It would be some great MNF material. The winner could wear Oilers throwbacks. We could both share retired jerseys (that would never happen).

    Here's the thing:

No other city has their football hero's sitting in pergatory.

Ray Childress? Earl Campbell? Warren Moon? The City of Nashville could obviously care less, and we're doing a disservice not to honor them.

Do a ceremony. Have them wear a Texans' jersey and hang it up.

To me it is common sense.

And I'm willing to go soap-box on it after seeing tonight's travesty.

    What's fair is fair.

Other teams have moved in the history of the league, Fatty. (AFL, too)

I wouldnt mind retiring Earl's jersey but thats it. How many oilers jerseys are retired in Nashville Im going to guess about a half dozen...Let the texans grow over time and we will have some great players and get those #'s retired ...no reason to retire jerseys that 75% of even houston texan fans wont know who they are ..im talking the B+ players in Oilers history...

But everybody knows Earl so id give him is due...

Name one other team that has moved after 30 years of history. Perhaps the Rams? Colts? Their history stayed.

Regardless. 34 needs to be in the rafters, period.

Typically the history moves with the franchise.

If you want your heroes honored, write Bud Adams.

Only example like the Oilers I can think of is the Colts, which was a long time ago, and **** Baltimore has a Super Bowl ring now.

I went to Academy the other day and there's a whole little section for Oilers gear, shows how much this city won't forget.

So do you disagree? I will fight passionately for this.

Earl needs to be remembered here by OUR team.

    Yes I disagree.

I do not want the Texans trying to act as if they are the Oilers.

If you want to start a Houston Sports Museum and enshrine them there, fine.

But do not get the Texans involved.

Actually Fatty...you are wrong. The Baltimore Colts were in Baltimore for 30 years before they packed up and moved to Indy in the middle of the night in 1983. They boxed up the whole franchise, history and all, and moved.

    I'm always wrong.

The Colts thing sucks for them, also.

    But you are right.

Still don't care. We need Campbell in the rafters, IMO.

I usually don't get into FFB threads for one reason or another, but I have to give this 5 stars. Couldn't agree more.
