Anyone pick up this week's issue? I love the new redesigned layout. Much hipper and cleaner, looks like the Austin Chronicle now but better. Red Connelly's "News Hostage" is my favorite column. This week's Life In Hell comic might interest those in the Death Penalty thread.
Richard Connelly is a great guy and his news stories are funny. Every once in a blue moon, I'll drop him an email about some ridiculous story on channel 2 and he almost always comes back with some other thing he saw. Hysterical. ------------------ Save Our Rockets and Comets SaveOurRockets.com
I'm surprised you like the Press, Jeff, given how often they slam the Arena deal. (especially the News Hostage section). ------------------
I didn't say I agreed with them, but Connelly is a classic. They appeal to the anti-establishment musician in me though I will tell you that the vast majority of musicians hate the rag. I like Tim Fleck's column too, but the cynicism of the Press can be too much for me most times. I like anyone though who makes fun of journalism in general. It is just a bizarre business. ------------------ Save Our Rockets and Comets SaveOurRockets.com
I know you didn't say you always agreed with him. It's just that I've noticed that many people don't like the people who disagree with them on key issues. I enjoy reading the Press, too (I have to settle for the Internet version, though). ------------------
