All, As promised, here's one final morsel from last night: http://blogs.houstonpress.com/ballz/2008/02/rocketswizards_the_show_goes_o.php Thanks for all the fantastic feedback this week. It's immensely appreciated. JCF
your articles are the best, straight up. i also enjoyed the bandwagon quote towards the end (that was from chuck, right?).
Yeah, that was a great quote. And he's 100% right. The only people left who believe in the Rockets now are the ones who have been dedicated since day 1.
This is another example of a story that had to be written, and that wrote itself. You are doing a good job. I hope the Press appreciates you. I and, I believe, this Board appreciates you.
actually, that quote was from Battier. Good catch, thanks. It's being fixed right now. Thanks for reading! JCF
Bill Worrell was talking about a speech Battier gave to his teammates before the game last night. Does anyone know what he said?
I can honestly say I heard no booing whatsoever. That doesn't mean it didn't happen, but I think it's at least a wee bit disenguous to suggest that it was anything more than the handiwork of a few yahoos. I actually thought the crowd was really supportive of the entire team to be honest. It was a little dead before tip-off, but I think that had more to do with it being a combination of the Yao buzzkill and the lackluster opponent. And let's face it, the Toyota Center crowd isn't exactly known for showing up on time. JCF
Jason, how old are you man. You are dominating the Chron writers. Do you see yourself continuing with the Press or moving elsewhere?
You're too kind. Let's just say I am young enough to possess some very big dreams, experienced enough to know what I'm doing, and old enough to understand there's still so much room left for improvement. I'm not sure what the future holds employment-wise. I just know that this is what I love and I'm forever indebted to those who have helped me along this path thus far, and those who will (I hope) illuminate my way in the future. JCF
I love Shane Battier. "The good news is our bandwagon is clear now ... so we can just go back to playing basketball."
