All, Two stories for ya from today's game: http://blogs.houstonpress.com/ballz/2008/03/rocketslakers_mcgrady_and_the.php http://blogs.houstonpress.com/ballz/2008/03/batman_forever_battier_gets_hi.php Just to let you know, I also spoke to Carl Landry in the locker room after the game. When I asked when we could expect him back, he said he didn't know and that he was still day-to-day. He says he didn't have much swelling after his weekend workouts, but that everyone (himself included) is dead-set on him delaying his return until he's 100%. Having his healthy and good to go for the playoffs is the No. 1 priority. Figured I'd pass that along. Thanks for your comments, and thanks most of all for reading. Have a great week. JCF
great articles and yeah i totally agree with your assessment of MVP being contradictory to how the Rockets are winning. Good stuff thanks for the update on Carl
As always, great articles. We have a bunch of funny guys on our team. Battier and Yao always crack me up. Same with Mutumbo and Rafer.
Doesn't sound particularly optimistic about the Celtics game. I think the Rockets are going to keep him out until there is zero swelling (as opposed to "not much swelling"). These games are going to be really tough without him.
If I'm being honest, Carl did not sound like a guy anticipating he'll play in Tuesday's game. But that's just me reading between the lines and trying to discern something from his tone of voice, phrasing, etc. I hope I'm wrong. It's worth nothing that others are more optimistic. Hard to blame the Rockets for their uber-cautious approach. As much as everyone wants to see Carl out there, it's just good sense to make sure he's 100% healthy; both for the remainder of this season, and those to come. JCF
I know this may be a dumb question but how exactly did Landry hurt his knee? Did he injure it in practice or a previous game? I know he had some knee issues before his pro days as well. Did those previous issues flare up?
I wonder if all the other injuries this year have made the Rockets take a much more cautious approach. Steve Francis was supposed to have just tendinitis, and it was much worse... Yao Ming was supposed to have Bone Spurs and it was much worse. Tmac had a knee bruise, that was day to day and he missed 14 games. I have to think that if this were the playoffs, that Landry would be in there. DD
