Im not really a Soccer fan, but i guess it would be cool to add another pro sports team to houston. http://www.chron.com/cs/CDA/ssistory.mpl/front/1812669
i'm not a soccer fan...but i'm not a ballet fan, either. nevertheless, i am glad we have a ballet company here in Houston in that it provides entertainment for those who enjoy it. the same is true of the MLS...I hope we get a team. I'd root for them...slap Houston on their jerseys and I'll root for just about anything!
i had a topic about the thunderbears before, everyone said they folded. I would like to see a soccer team in Houston, for the soul reason that Dallas has one, and we a much better city than Dallas, deserve one
A MLS team in Houston would be awesome... We would need a marquee playa, but I think we're missing out... Kinda like NHL...
Lets hope the Senators financial woes in Ottawa will continue, so then they might come to Houston. Theyre the number 1 team in the NHL this year too
agreed. i say we make a petition to get the red devils relocated to houston. that would be sweet. real sweet.
If it were up to me, I'd gladly let you guys have the Burn. I assume Dallas got an original MLS team because Lamar Hunt was one of the early MLS backers (and continues to be) and he's a Dallasite. But they've been reduced to playing at a High School stadium in Southlake. Not exactly the trappings of a professional team.
Well this would at least give me a reason to buy or rent a FIFA soccer game for the sole purpose of getting my ass kicked by some Italian League, correction, KOREAN LEAGUE team.
That would be cool if Houston got a MLS team. I guess I'm one of those rare Americans who like soccer.
Alexander sold the Thunderbears to the AFL which I believe kept the Houston name last season but played all their games on the road. The team either became a new franchise or folded this season. I believe the league the Hotshots were in folded but the Hotshots joined another league and still exist.
I'd rather have a NHL team than a MLS team. I'm sure MLS can exist in Houston especially if McNair buys the team, but I don't want to have a team just to say Houston has a MLS team. I doubt MLS will draw large crowds once the novelty wears off. I'll be disappointed if USA Mexico doesn't draw > 60k. It should sellout.
