I was at the Gallo for the 2013 all star apperance, it was Bun B and a handfull of all stars, WB, Blake, LeBron LeBron gave a little speech, and at the end of it he hopped the skating rink's fence and ran through the crowd to leave. It was a bit of a surreal moment, he ran within like 30 ft of where our group of friends were standings, him running by wasn't the surreal part, the surreal part was seeing the crowd go absolutely nuts with what felt like a thousand people charging towards him.
Gunspoint, a good watch I only went to this mall maybe a total of 2 times in my life in the late 90's. Based on the video, not much has changed. Never went on weekends, but it was pretty much like this on the weekdays in the late 90's
Mid 80`s it was our place to go on Friday night.......cruising North Oaks Mall. Good Lord it is a dump now, but back then......it was the best time
Yeah my early teen years were spent at the Galleria. Good old magic pan shortcut. And buying stink bombs at Sheer Insanity and dropping them onto the ice skating rink.
That was my mall in the early 2000's. The skip school trips, online dates, arcade Marvel vs Capcom squad, game stop. I got caught with a bad friend stealing 2 polo shirts but thankfully they did not prosecute me.
Willowbrook has done a good job of evolving with the times and keeping itself relevant...at least it was pretty packed last time I went there about 2 yrs ago.
The last 2 times I went to alameda mall, ojos locos, someone broke into one of my friends cars. I stopped going.
Same here, Willowbrook was my go to mall. As a kid I would regularly break some fools off on some Street Fighter 2 and Mortal Kombat at Aladdin's Castle in the food court. I have gone back some, and amazed at how well the mall is doing, especially the weekends. Glad it's still going strong. Early on in life, my mom would try to take us to Northwest Mall as well since it was the next closest mall for us. Obviously that mall never came back around
Nothing but old ladies power walking and a store that had nothing in it except a $100 Michael Jordan Starting Lineup figure.
This has got to be a conundrum for the tinman. On one side you have 80s nostalgia (The Mall). On the other you have big tech superstars (Jeff Bezos & Amazon) who killed the mall. These, along with China and art history degrees are the fundamental pillars of tinmans personality Surprised he didn't suffer a general protection fault and a BSOD.
