    A news conference?

What purpose is it supposed to serve?

I found it really annoying tonite that channel 2 kept coming on and coming on to tell us it was raining! Oh and that ever important news that we should stay away from flooding areas! And the b-ball game was split into 2 screens with a radar telling us its raining!
    Uh, its raining alright.

Yeah that really pissed me off that channel 2 kept interrupting the game to let us know it's raining outside. Channel 2 can go to hell as far as I'm concerned.

They've been doing non-stop coverage on channel 13 though, I guess that's because Dave Ward, Melanie Lawson, and Shara Fryer can't leave the building...

Hope everyone is o.k. Don't go to work and mess up your car if you can help it...I live in Spring, and I thought my house would flood there for a second. The water line was coming closer and closer. No flood ins. so I was getting really scared... On a lighter side, does it seem like all the news channels make a big deal and hype this rain thing up or what?

I agree Roxran, channel 2. I'm hearing that this is one of the worst floods in a 100 years, which is why its being hyped.

The last NBA Finals game I remember being interrupted by "breaking news" was in 1994.

Channel 2 sucks. I understand they got nothing better to do. First, Channel 2 says it will not interrupt the basketball game...whatever. That little ticker at the bottom - piece of ****. Then halftime...WTF...people who want to get the news can flip to 11, 13 or 26. I want to see Celebrity Weakest Link. From what Marv was saying - it was Walton vs. Costas. And then moving the game to split screen...

Someone needs to write Channel 2 and let them know they suck but they already know they suck that's why they have breaking news.

My local D/FW affiliate(WFAA) is covering the devastation live right now in Houston. WoW!!! Utterly amazing. Has anyone died? That water has to be some nasty stuff...no telling what's in it! It will be an amazing statistic if noone is killed in this one.

I'm from Houston myself and I cannot believe what I'm seeing here! So many cars lost. One cannot even fathom what I-45 and many of these other roads have lurking underneath the water right now!

This is nuts. One guy was trapped on a Coke machine for crying out loud. I cannot get over what I'm seeing. Geez!!!!!!!

    all's fine in rockHEAD's domecile.
I live in the back of the Heights and our street was flooded, but fortunately it only came up part of the yard, our backyard was pretty soaked, but no rain in the computer room and the rest of the house seems fine. We were awoken at 2am by the telephone, it was our friends out near 290 and 34th, water was getting ready to come into their house, their yards and streets were flooded. We've since spoken to them and they are fine.

I was hoping my neighbors car (with the booming stereo that wakes us up in the middle of the night) would float away. No such luck... maybe next time.

I hope everyone and their property is okay as well. The flooding in Houston is serious...It's just frustrating to see channels exploit this situation for their gain.

This morning Channel 13's helicopter saved someone's life by transporting bone marrow from IAH to the Medical Center. Channel 13 should be commended for their actions.

    Smokey,

I think it is days like today that actually give the TV Channels a real purpose. Catastraphic weather SHOULD supercede all other programming. Last time we had this type of flooding, the next day when people were cleaning up, without warning a gas pipeline explodes to make the situation even worse.

This should be on TV, and we should be getting constant updates. This is not over yet.
