By the sports radio conversations, the local analysts, this board, etc., this loss proved exactly what i suspected would happen. Vince running the final touchdown only uncovered it that much more. This town is full of the same dam* sports fans that lost the Oilers. I thought we might have purged ourselves of the sorry attitude, fair weather, poor us p*ssy's but it is evident that they have gone nowhere. The day Vince got drafted by the Titans he became an enemy, especially when the Texans play them. With this reaction and the way things stand, why would one of the Texan's players want to suit up and give this city their best effort. Sh*t, that is all I can say. I can barely put words together because of the anger I have towards y'all. Just to hear Rich Lord on the way home, wanted to make me puke. His smugness and glee when dicussing the Texans not drafting Vince almost makes it seem like he wanted the Texans to lose this way just so he could discuss this. And to Texas Horn Fans, I don't give a dam* if this guy lead you to a National Championship, he doesn't play for us, and that should be enough. I don't care if the Texans had drafted a punter intead of Vince when it came to game day I would be right their cheering them. Lastly, if you put Vince on the Texans, a team without a running game, a poor pass defense, and absolutely none, zilch, nada in pass protection, he would have already torn an ACL by now. For anyone to think that he would have the same success here as he is having in Tennessee is crazy, he would be the guy to lead us back every game to see our defense blow it in the last minute. I am just venting now, out.

I don't really like any of the Chicago teams save the Bulls but the fans up here are diehard. They make Houston fans look like frikken tragedy.

Houston fans often look for the escape route when things get rocky.

Vince Young just opened an escape hatch the size of a mack truck on the Houston Texans bandwagon.

Thats the point. The Texans dont give it there all, theis organization has never givin it all. I will always root for the rockets because they are a team that will always play hard and an organization that always tries to win. Same thing goes for the Astros. They respect the fans and we respect their teams. The Texans are a joke. Why root for a team that has made mistake after mistake. the product they put on the field is rediculus. Just cause their from Houston, doesnt mean you have to root for them. I have just been disgusted by the Texans their whole existance and I have never been a fan.

The point is that someone was going to start this thread, and it's you...

    Coming soon will be:

    Carr Sucks
    Fire Kubiak
Rockets Lower Level Fans are G&Y
    Fish Tacos are Good

There are some things in life that are just true...and one of them is some fan getting their panties in a wad because not everyone is quite as "diehard" as them.

Way to go man! When the going gets even tougher, and a horrible Texans franchise gets even worse...you're the guy still hanging on!

Unless you're part of the organization or have access inside the locker room, then you have no clue whether the Texans give it there all or not. So stop jumping to conclusions.

The fact they have made some mistakes in their short existence doesn't, in any way, relate to their dedication of putting a winning product on the field. It just means they've hit some bumps in the road. But the team has an owner willing to do what it takes to develop a winner and that's the key. So maybe your argument would hold weight if say, this were the Arizona Cardinals.

And what exactly have the Texans done to "disrepesct" their fanbase, not draft the players some want? This is a good franchise with a mediocre product on the field right now; but it will get better.

And they are Houston's team, and I, for one, will root for them win or lose.

Tennessee had a joke of a oline that was considered one of the worst in the league, but they miraculously turned it around when VY started playing. Why? Because VY can buy more time in the pocket to make plays.

Stop with the excuses. VY is great. The Texan's and Carr suck.

The Titans are generally a pretty crappy team. Well, they were anyway.

There's nothing wrong with being pissed about the decisions your team is making. It doesn't make you any less of a fan.

Some of you need to realize that percentage of people is growing. Being angry with what happened today doesn't necessarily mean you are a big fan of Vince Young.

VY wouldn't have the same success here as he did in Tenn? You should be proud of yourself, maybe you should work for ESPN because you sound just like every other analyst that has ridiculed VY and said how he won't be good in the NFL and if he is it will take 3 to 4 years blah blah blah blah blah. Vince would be the SAME Vince that he has always been everywhere he has played... Whether he is on Tennesee or the Texans he is going to play like Vince.. The same Vince that we saw at Madison, the same Vince that we saw on day 1 of the Longhorns.. The same Vince we see now in the NFL.. Don't give me that stupid bullsh/t about "ohhh he wouldnt be as good if he was on the Texans"

Shut up already... I care about what you think as much as I care about the Texans as in I don't give a dam at all. Why don't I? Because I don't give a sh/t about things that are just stupid and pointless to give a sh/t in the first place.

The Astros and Rockets have always thought of ways to improve the team... They would listen to the City of Houston... The Fans wanted Clemens.. The Astros payed an insane 20mil to plz us. The Rockets constantly try to do better for Houston...

    A perfect example??

When the majority of Rocket fans were calling for Steves head and had given up, they traded him for T-Mac that summer

It is moves like above.. moves that respect the fans that create Die-hard fans, I bleed Rocket red, they have earned a fan for life even if they **** up now. The Texans haven't earned anything, all they have done is slap me in the face 4 or 5 times. Thanks alot b/tches, I would rather have no football team then to have the Texans. ;)

The Rockets chose the Houston boy Hakeem on draft day, he wasn't the projected #1. He was a top projection but not #1.. Yet we went ahead and got the Houstonian.. I don't care if MJ was in the draft or not.. We have two championships and many years of good fun because of the Respect the Rockets chose to show to us fans by drafting Hakeem.

The Texans?? Especially with that "Kubiak is a Houstonian!!" Bullsh/t can go fu/k themselves, I hope they go to LA, they seem like a smart@$$ snotty bunch... and me? Definitly not a fan

Getting TMac was basically a "no brainer" move that almost everyone was behind. Drafting VY to trading for Tmac isn't a good comparison at all. VY had backing from some local peeps and the UT grads, but the majority was still in the Bush or Williams camp. Polls had VY maxing out around 25% of the desired draft pick of most houstonians IIRC. Granted it was larger than the 10% he was pulling nationwide for the #1 overall pick, but still, it was nowhere near the amount of support the Tmac trade had. The Tmac trade wasn't about "fan respect", it was about the Rox doing what they thought would help them win, just as the Williams pick was for the Texans.

And in 1983, Hakeem was basically the #1 overall consensus pick.. the Rockets purposely tanked that season so they could get him.. it was their intention the entire time, getting hakeem. Everybody knew it. There was no "will hakeem go first?" talk. It was Hakeem>everybody else. And once again, it wasn't even a matter of respecting fans, it was the obvious choice for the Rockets, same as the Tmac trade was.

Keep up that attitude and maybe you'll get your wish.

My argument has nothing to do with Vince Young being a good player and I wasn't saying he wouldn't be good here, my point was that if he had the pocket collapsing around him as soon as he took three steps he would already be injured, example Michael Vick.

And gee, it wouldn't be easier to get rid of the ball quicker if you had Andre Johnson (a top 10 NFL WR), Eric Moulds, and Owen Daniel than those incredible studs like Drew Bennett, Bo Scaife, and Brandon Jones?

The Titans do have a better line than the Texans but the Texans are much better at the skill positions (QB excluded of course).

David Carr freaking sucks. He's a bottom 5 NFL QB who's had 5 yrs to do nothing but regress and regress as a QB. Carr wouldn't go downfield if you offered him a no strings attached night with Jessica Biel. He can't read defenses, he has no intangibles or leadership skills, and he doesn't protect the ball well.

Had the Texans not made the boneheaded decision to extend the contract of a below average, regressing QB, they could have drafted VY or hell Leinart or Cutler even. All 3 are miles better than Carr already in their ROOKIE seasons.

QB in today's NFL is not an easy position to fill. The Cowboys have been looking and looking for a good QB since Aikman left. It's the most valuable, most important position to fill and the Texans upper management completely bungled in by making a long term investment in a subpar QB in a yr where they owned the #1 pick in a draft with 3 blue chip QB prospects.

Why would that not bother the hell out of you as a Texans fan?
