Hello to the soccer fans out there. Just wanted to give you a heads up that we are going to be a sponser with the Dynamo this season so we are going to be doing some viewing parties along with them during the season and I needed some input from you guys. We already setup the first viewing party with them which will be our first away game against a great team DC United so we expect a nice turn out for that game here at Live. The question i have for you guys is what other game should i pick to do a viewing party that some of you guys would actually come down and watch here. The games have to be an Away game and preferably not one that starts at 9pm on the west coast which will overlap our club night. I was looking at the LA Galaxy game at 7pm later in the season but i thought i would get your opinions. They also dropped off some tickets to the home opener for us so if i have any extra i will let you guys know so you can enjoy the game. We will get VIP tickets in our package tha we will be giving away at the viewing parties etc. So hopefully for the fans out there it's a bit more excitment for you.
Does Houston Dynamo have a Local TV Contract? When I look at their website I only see 5 games scheduled to be on ESPN2 and ABC. Are those the only games that are gonna be on TV? I wonna be a fan of this new team, but if their games aren't on local TV, it's gonna be hard.
Im pretty sure they will have TV locally. There is no way they wouldn't have it on TV they would lose a lot of fans. And there is no way they would be selling viewing parties for away games.
They'll have 4 games on ESPN2 and 11 more will be shown on FSN. Also, they have the MLS Direct Kick package that shows almost all MLS games. They may be expecting you to have MLS Direct Kick to show the games. As far as what games to show, FC Dallas is an obvious rival, LA Galaxy would be good because of Landon and there was a big rivalry between San Jose and them. Chicago, New England, and KC should have good teams but I don't know how well they'll attract fans.
I'll go up there for a party or two. I can't act like I will be there for every game. But you know...if they are in the playoffs, I will jump on the bandwagon and be up there, lol. But I am really curious to see how the city supports this team.
Living in Austin, I don't hear anything about them except what I catch on chron.com. The wonderful newsrag that is the Austin American-Statesman does such a wonderfl job of covering soccer ( ). What have their marketing efforts been like? Have they made a real push to get people out there?
I'm there. I have season tickets and have been looking for a good place to watch the away games so I might as well give your place a shot.
With the MLS Direct Kick, do you get to see every game ala League Pass? I just got an e-mail about it, $69 for the season.
From what I understand they just show one of the local feeds so if neither of the teams playing are broadcasting it the game won't be on direct kick. But the majority will be shown.
