Are there cemeteries close to Downtown, Montrose, or Memorial Park? Do you know the average cost for lots in the cemeteries?

    Thanks.

Forest Park on the Gulf Freeway is close to Downtown, and a very large, fairly old cemetery, for Houston.

Glenwood Cemetery on Washington is amazing. It's worth just a visit or drive through. The place is huge and is very hilly. The graves can be very old (for Houston! 1800's) and it has all sorts of intersting "grave stuff" like mausoleums and statues.

It's just East of Montrose on Washington and very easy to miss as it's just a couple of iron gates.

I discovered it when a friend of my mom's was buried there a couple of years ago. Howard Hughes is supposedly burried there as well.

Glenwood is beautiful. It's like a park. I'm guessing it is REALLY expensive.

This is truly a disturbing question. I don't know of any...but I guess I'm just disturbed of the topic being discussed on the bbs.

    Death is wierd.
