How about trading Cuttino Mobley, Glen Rice, and Mo Taylor for Antonie Walker. We would have the power forward that we need to compete with the Western Powers. What do you think?

Just to say...Antoine Walker is of the same caliber, in my opinion, as Cat. Just because salaries won't work out for a straight up deal doesn't mean that the Rockets should screw their own selves anally by throwing in other players too.

Oh, and really, Antoine Walker is nowhere near a Western Conference 4. I don't even understand how he can possibly pull it off in the East either.

    no.

why not just go to the nearest ymca, catch one of the pickup games, and then choose a player there that shoots a -27 percent from the field.

walker is probably THE most overrated player in the league. gengelmann, reading this leaves a bad taste in my mouth. i'm gonna clean my palate by reading another uniform thread. buh-bye.

Speaking as someone who lived in Boston for 4 years and saw Walker quite a bit...

NO! NO! A thousand times, NO!

He blows. He can't shoot the 3, but prefers it to any other shot. He's too slow to play against the fast 3's, to weak to play against the good 4's. His D is horrific against anybody. He puts himself into situations he can't get out of... and takes terrible shots (like Mobley...). He's spoiled, selfish, and can't seem to realize that Paul Pierce is a much, much player than he is... and that the team has only had success since Pierce arrived.

It's true - he has good handles for a 4, actually does have a good shot for a 4, and is good at taking defenders on... but the bad far outweighs the good.

I do wonder how good Walker could have been if someone had straightened him out a long time ago... but it's probably too late now. Imagine a Walker that rarely took 3's, was in shape, put forth effort on D, and played less selfishly. You'd have a spectacular point forward and a truly elite player.

If you think JVG can turn Walker into the player he could have been... by all means make that trade. I, for one, will weep copiously if Walker comes near Houston.

Personally, when I read the thread title I was hoping for Wal-tah McCarty or Eric Williams. :D

I am pretty much in agreement with haven, DT and others. No way Walker can play PF full time in the west.

I also think we would be giving up too much. Personally, I would not even trade Cat straight up for Walker.

Besides, aren't we trying to get away from PFs who shoot the 3 too much? ;)

Remember how badly 'Toine was abused by Martin in the semifinals last year? Imagine that, only ten times worse against the Duncans, Webbers, Wallaces, and Garnetts of the West.

    HELL NO!

Walker is the softest big man ever!

You could never get the heart and effort that Mobley puts in out of Walker.
