I had a service last year for a while, but their rates went up a couple of times and they weren't really necessary. I don't need someone full time or even once a week. I really just need someone every other week to do the floors, bathroom and kitchen - just the heavy stuff. I don't mind paying someone if I can get out of doing it. A whole house full of wood floors can be a pain if you are lazy like me. If anyone has any recommendations, I'd appreciate it. I'd probably prefer a trusted individual over a service. They seem to be less expensive and more consistent. Thanks!
J&M Housekeeping 713-463-5696 I know the owner. They do a great job. They'll send a few people to your house. Usually the owner's wife makes the trip if it's the first time they clean the house. They cleaned Rudy T's house when he was still coaching. His clients include Luther Head and WWE wrestler Kane.
I have read some horrible things about service companies along the lines of Molly Maid, etc. They do not really clean anything as their rags are dirty from previous houses. Studies have been done that measure bacteria and the like and it is not pretty. Much better to go with private people if you find someone.
Those places are horrible. My TV's and computer monitor are always dirtier than before they clean. Same with my stovetop and microwave. They just take a dirty rag and wipe it down a couple of times. Jeff, I had a chick that cleaned my garage apartment in the Heights when I lived there. She did a good job, but: -She charged me $50 for a garage apartment -She doesn't take checks, only cash -half the time, she wouldn't show up -She once came in, took my cash and left a note saying she would be back to clean next week -she was always calling or dropping by without calling -when I moved, she called me so much I had to change my number and not tell her where I lived Other than that, she was great. Do you want her number?
Hey, JPM, I called them and they are great. Very reasonable. Drop me an email so I can tell them who referred me. I'm thinking they won't know BBS monikers.
Richard: Housekeeping? Tommy: No thank you. Sleeping. Richard: Housekeeping? Tommy: Come back in an hour. Richard: Housekeeping, you want towel? Tommy: No towels. Need sleepy. Richard: Housekeeping, you want me for pillow? Tommy: Please go away let me sleep FOR THE LOVE OF GOD! Richard: Housekeeping, you want me jerk you off? Tommy: What kind of hotel is this? [Opens door] Tommy: Who the hell are... Oh it's you. Richard: Good morning, Sunshine.
If you start to have sex with them, make sure to keep your business and personal relationship somewhat sophisticated.
The Maid ELAINE: All right! You're foolin' around with your maid. That is a wise decision. JERRY: Elaine, do you think I would go willy-nilly into a situation so obviously fraught with potential complications? ELAINE: You are paying a woman to come to your house and sleep with you. JERRY: No. I pay her to clean. The rest is-- ELAINE: What? A health plan? JERRY: I was going to say, "Being a good host." ELAINE: Oh-ho-ho. Oh. JERRY: But the point is we have our personal relationship, and we have our work relationship. They're separate and, I think, some what sophisticated. ELAINE: So you consider this a relationship? JERRY: Yes, I do. ELAINE: Oh. Have you been out? JERRY: Yes, we have. ELAINE: Where did you go? JERRY: The store. ELAINE: Mm! To get what? JERRY: Stuff. ELAINE: Cleaning supplies? JERRY: And gum. ELAINE: Oh. Well, there's nothin' more sophisticated than diddlin' the maid and then chewin' some gum.
Hey Jeff, I work with John so he definitely knows who i am. I asked for his permission to post his information. The only thing he had against you was being a Lutheran High North Alum The Lebron vs. Tracy topics always go round and round with him.
You know Jeff, if you were self-cleaning like you cats, you wouldn't need a maid. I wish I had enough money in the budget to hire a cleaning service. I can't stand cleaning up after the wife and kids.
I have read some horrible things about service companies along the lines of Molly Maid, etc I have had services and individuals clean my mess. I prefer individuals since they can be trained to do what I want. With services, you are not guaranteed the same person every week.
Right? Well, all I need them for is really twice a month, mainly to clean the floors. And that is because, as SELF-cleaning as my cats may be, they are not anywhere near HOUSE cleaning.
