Going to see a concert in a couple of weeks...what's the deal with three ticket prices: standing room, lower balcony, and upper balcony? Do you get your own seats with food and drink service when you are in the balcony? Any other information appreciated.
I've been there 3 times but not in the balcony. I don't think I've ever seen people eating up there, I just know that you do get your own seat. I don't think I'll ever want to buy a seat up there.
<br> Lucky. To the OP: Honestly, why would you want to sit in the balcony? The floor is where it is at!! But really, you do get your own seat. I don't know if you can eat there either since I never get "seats".
Saw Santogold a few months back. That place is expensive! $8 for a bottle of bud light. Drinks were cheaper in London.
Bought floor seats...I was really thinking more about drink service, since getting a drink at the bar can be a pain.
will be checking out the Venue next weekend for Psychedelic Furs concert. Really going for Amusement Parks on Fire..will post my review of venue.
I saw BB King there with my son and I saw people up in the balcony, but I dont remember seeing them eating or being served. Standing room was perfect for the show. We had a great time and enjoyed the place.
Haven't been up there, but it looks like the view of the show would be great from the seats. That said, the fun is on the floor, I think and it's a good venue for a show, even if the drinks are a bit steep. I saw Los Lonely Boys there, and also went to the BB King show, where I later saw Robert Horry and drunkenly pestered him on two different occasions. Not my finer moment, but all in good fun.
This. Only question is will they play Houston Don't Dream About Me. I can hear the intro now, "this song is about your town...CHEER...your town sucks!!"
I'm driving in from Austin to see the Butthole Surfers tonight. I left Houston in '91 and I'm grossly unfamiliar with the New Houston. That said, are there good places to hang out before going to the HoB near that location? What is the parking situation in that part of Houston. Man...I feel like I'm going to a city I've never visited. A little help? Thanks in advance.
There's a large parking garage right across the street from the HoB, to the west of the Four Seasons; I think it's usually $10, though it might not be open to the public since tonight might not be a game (Rockets or Astros) night. There's another one attached to that shopping center complex about three blocks away (don't know the price or the exact entrance, think it's off Main), and another large parking garage on Clay and, I believe, San Jacinto. It used to be $5; assume it still is. But if you use that one, make sure you have cash, as there is no teller to exit at night and the credit card aspect of the machine used to break down alot. As for what to do, the HoB is attached to a shopping center, large but mostly vacant due to the deathknell in the economy / real estate. There's at least a bookstore to keep you, and a few other bars/restaurants in the immediate vicinity. Not much else going on in a ten block radius. A = House of Blues P = Parking Garages (I'm not sure on the one with the question mark, but you should be able to see the signs for all three if I am a bit off.)
