http://www.hob.com/venues/clubvenues/houston/ Early lineup includes: Danzig TV On the Radio Los Lonely Boys Willie Nelson Joe Satriani Minus the Bear The Black Crowes BB King Pretty cool.
Let's see....what band doesn't fit??? Hint, I saw them back in 1994 at that old venue out on Main near Butler Stadium.
BB King is about the only one I want to see out of that list. I hardly know any of his songs, but everytime I see him perform on TV I am impressed.
Holy crap. TV on the Radio is great. Everybody should check them out. They have a new album releasing later in August.
I thought the same thing - EXACTLY what Houston needs - a venue that can provide a good spot for a wide range of music.
1500 capacity....good size for the bands that are too big for the Continental Club yet too small for Verizon Wireless.
That's cool- I saw Joe Satriani with Eric Johnson at the House of Blues in Mandalay Bay, Las Vegas. Satriani rocked- he's bald now, though. At first I was like, "Where's Big Hair Joe?" Times-they-are-a-changin.
On a local radio show here in LA Steve Jones always refers to the venue as House of (everything but the) Blues.
