Kevin Martin is a terrific scorer but he is not even Chase Budinger on defense. I surely hope we keep Chase because I fear the Maloofs will insist on him in a package since he is both effective as a scorer and inexpensive.

He is also injury prone. Fool's gold, his defense is worse than McGrady's.

Sactown is looking like OKC these days. One of those sleeper teams that will be very, very good in about 3 years.

KMart is a great player, but injury prone. He's like TMac in his current situation, but just 5 years ago.

And do we really want another TMac? :/

NO TO KEVIN MARTIN. He'll hinder the development of our young guns. Carl Landry is our future! More and more I'm seeing his potential to be our representative in the All-Star games in the coming years.

Kevin Martin w/ Landry would be a great tandem. He doesnt have to play good defense just as long as he plays good team D. But his shooting when Rox have that usual offensive lull in a game will be tremendous. Plus we're talking about Rick Adelman, I'm sure he can get Martin to play within the offense and still score his usual 20.

    Brith Dates:

    Kevin Martin, Feb 1, 1983
    Carl Landry, Sept 19, 1983

    EDIT:

By the way, this is a pretty typical piece you would expect a team's beat writer, who can often almost act as a team's mouthpiece, to write, in the face of trade rumors. It says (1) we are not as desperate to dump that guy as people think, (2) more than one team is interested in him, (3) so don't expect us to take crap for him, (4) oh by the way, this is what we hope to get in a trade (star big man!), (5) also, we have those other nice pieces that are available (won't you take Andres, he's Argentinian and always looks like he's playing hard-- HUGE FAN FAVORTE!).

That's why you are not on the team. You'd hinder the development of the young guns, particularly Landry.

Might want to fix the "then" part, too. It should be "than."
