This isn't going to help you, but in San Francisco, Front Desk Agents make $21/Hr. You could probably ask for $15+ I'm thinking.

they didnt tell me what was available. im suppose to go in for an interview. im thinking maybe somewhere in the restaurant area/ kitchen or bell hop or room service attendent or front desk.

i just need something that pays alittle more than minimum wage cause book fees , lab fees, gas, food, and rent is really killing me. :(

Why not ask Almu what he'd ask for?

I'm sure he'd give out sound advice.

Depends on the job. If the hotel is large you have alot of different stuff like switchboard, front desk, bell boy/runner. Avoid kitchen job. Not worth it.

Front desk probably pays the most.

I would think switchboard is the best (only will have if a really large hotel).

If the hotel is like < 120 rooms its gonna be Frontdesk doing everything except kitchen. Pretty sure Hilton is private owned so you won;t be getting raises, so ask for a good salary if you want to stay for a while. Probably 10 is a good starting point. At lower grade hotels like Hampton the average is probably 8 for starting rate, little more for night shift.

If it's at the Nassau Bay Hilton and you get a bellman's position...party time!!! I worked there for almost two years (mid 90's) while in college and have not had more fun at a job than there. Got to meet Tom Hanks, Kevin Bacon, Dennis Rodman, Gene Simmons and a couple (making teh sex) I accidentally walked in on one New Years Eve. I'm sure it's changed since...but the bell staff had free roam to do pretty much whatever we wanted. Good times!
