It has been freakin' hot here this past week! Yesterday, I got in the truck, and got a reading of 106! I couldn't believe it, so I wanted to take a pic and share.

Sorry for the poor quality, I used my cellular phone.

It's always funny when I travel to other cities and they complain how hot their summers are, when it's only 90, with little humidity.

I got 108 a couple of days ago when my car had been sitting in direct sunlight for a few hours.

Vehicle temps usually aren't accurate to begin with, especially right when you get in. Most manufacturers tell you to drive for around 5-7 miles to get anything near an accurate reading. Also most "weather" temps you hear/see on the radio/tv are measured in the shade, not in direct sunlight.

Oh, and if you want hot - places like Palm Springs, CA. are 108-113 all week long... your car thermometer may either blow up, read "TILT" or just die out there. ;)

Maybe I'm in the minority... but I freakin' LOVE this weather.

I love the sun, I love sunny days, and I love heat.

Nothing depresses me more than cloudy, rainy, and/or cold days.

June-August are my favorite Texas months.

    I live for this ****!

Yeah, I have to agree. I usually drive with windows down unless I'm still at work (don't want anyone to funk faint). When it was around 105-110 up here in Dallas a few years ago, I drove home from work with the windows down. Of course anytime the temps are that high, the humidity is probably low, so it didn't feel all that bad.

Not me... I hate the heat.

I've been in Houston my whole life, and long for the day that I can leave.

I like my surroundings dark and cold. If I'm cold, I can always get warmer. But I can sit under a fan, buck naked, and still be hotter than hell.

    yuk

When you have to work outside during the hottest part of the day like I do, it pretty much stinks.

Not to mention the fact that being bald isn't too plesant either.

I live in the Middle East. Can anyone top that?

I hate the heat and the humidity. May, June, July and August are unbearable here. However, November through March is perfect.

I hit 118 degrees one day a couple of weeks ago when I got off work. Talk about awesome.

There is another cool front coming through tonight that will drop the temp 5-10 degrees and lower the humidity. :)

    11.3 MPG?

What kind of truck is that? Not very good gas mileage there.

Same here. This is the month I dread as a Houstonian. The first October cold front can't come soon enough along with the overcast, cool days.
