I was listening to the station on the way home from work and they were saying they have a lot of people from the corporate office there because they will be changing the format Monday morning. They don't have any idea what is going to happen but all staff members must go to a mandatory meeting 6 am in the morning on Monday to see what is in store for the station. I'm pretty bummed out. This was one of the best stations in town that played the best music w/ the least commercials. Anyone else heard about this?
this is a shock to me because not long ago i read that they were now the #1 station in Houston beating out KRBE
I agree. I was in shock as well but the jokey was urging all of Houston to email his boss as Manderson@cbs.com and tell him to keep the station running. I've already done so...
Yeah I heard some announcement during the commercials from CBS that said something about a format change.
Muahahaha... you know it's going to be playing SOMETHING in Spanish... we're taking over... you can't stop us... LOL! Wall across the border? Puh-leeze. We're not going anywheres!
it better not be a MEXICAN RADIO STATION. it's not like we enough MEXICAN STATIONS on the radio. if i wanted to hear a mariachi band, i'd go to a quincenera because they sound like a MEXICAN RADIO STATION. come on CBS. Don't do it. if it's not hot hits, bring in some type of Rock station that doesn't play Creed or Nickelback or ****ty **** like that.
Fixed. Music in Spanish isn't necessarily from MEXICO. But I know what you mean... you don't want another Spanish music station. Y'all just can't handle the fact that we're taking over the airwaves, too. Deal with it. Seriously: would you be o.k. with an All-Asian all-the-time music station? And, yes, I mean Chinese, Japanese, Vietnamese, Laotian, Indonesian, Philippine, and Indian FM station?
did a quick google search and found this http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/ent/6341794.html interesting to see CBS radio trying to purchase KLOL 101 and KHMX 96.5 from Clear Channel
Seriously? Hot 95.7 a GREAT station? Hardly. They only play a total of 10 songs throughout the day, they just keep it on a loop. They play top 20 hits. Houston radio stations are crap anyway. 94.5 sucks, 96.5 is mediocre, KRBE is not good, 97.9 is bad, and then we have 10 different latino stations. Most of the time I prefer listening to 610 and Jim Rome.
Uhh no. The hell i want that for? i know what they are saying on thE MEXICAN STATION. They're sayin' i raised corn, and now i got money, YEAH YEAH. I raise corn, YEAH YEAH I don't see Cambodia up there, but you got Laos? Laos?
I wish 95.7 the wave (Jazz) was still around.. Seriously 5th largest city in the USA and we can't get a Jazz station? Sometimes I need something to cool me down when driving through rush hour.
lol, i was just about to post something about smooth jazz 95.7 BRING BACK THAT COUNTRY MUSIC THING. It was kikk?
EDIT: Kam. Kam kam kam kam kam, yes, we raise corn, AND we're taking over. Admit it. HEY, what about Indonesia? I'm having trouble reading this here post, for some reason: Ooo! I know now. As someone put it on the "Hate the Jazz" thread in the G.A.R.M. : "I love JAZZ. I hate The JAZZ."
104.1 continues to smoke Texas stations, and 97.9 is the best rap station. 95.7 is a great station, but it's not going to effect me too much if it closes. That said, I don't really listen to that much radio anyways, I have Sirius.
90.9 KTSU. They play REAL jazz, not that pseudo-contemporary watered down stuff. It's perfect is you want to mellow out during the rush hour. Give it a try.
