The popular shooting contest will be part of TNT's coverage of all-star Saturday night, the American television network announced Tuesday. Three NBA players, who will be revealed later, will take part. The competition will take place outdoors at the NBA's all-star Block Party in Phoenix on Feb. 14. The dunk contest, three-point shootout and skills challenge are later Saturday night , and the all-star game is Sunday (TSN, TSN HD, 8pm et/5pm pt). If a player makes a shot in H-O-R-S-E, the next competitor must make the same shot or receive a letter. Players will have 24 seconds to execute their shots, and an NBA referee will rule if they're done properly. Dunking won't be allowed. A player gets an 'H' for his first miss and is eliminated once he has all five letters of the word.

Reminds me of the Jordan vs. Bird Micky D's commercial from way back in the day. It'd be awesome if Kobe were to be in it.
Yes! They shot bank shots and left handed layups. I played horse with a friend a couple of weeks ago and it was actually pretty good. I made a shot where I had to stand at the top of the 3 point line with two basketballs, shoot one into the side goal with one hand and make it, but while it was in the air I had to shoot the other ball into the main goal. My friend actually came up with it, missed it, and then I did it for fun. He was like "F*** you!". I think given the right players, they could make it interesting.

Pistol Pete!!!
They need to realize that what everyone wants to see, rather than this parade of lame ideas from 2-ball to the skills challenge to this, is a 1 on 1 tournament, or maybe 2 on 2, NBA Jam style. Who wouldn't tune in to see Allen Iverson play Derrick Rose 1 on 1.
That is a really good question though I'm just more excited somebody will be doing it. Of course Kobe would be exciting, but I bet he won't do this. My money would be on him or Flash winning this thing. My list of non-superstars I'd like to see would be Brandon Roy, Tony Parker, Manu, Nash, Monta, Kevin Martin.
I'd agree with this. It'd be fun, wouldn't take too long, and could be dramatic. Also the players would probably be much more into it. Horse? Horse sucks ass. I still remember the Shaq hakeem one on one ppv that never happened.
