This was leaked way too early. There's still more than 3 weeks until signing day, and Bennett is still making his official visit to A&M the weekend after next. I'm not believing this until he signs on the dotted line on February 2. Ditto Ryan Perrilloux, who is still going to make visits to LSU and Miami. But, this recruiting class does have me excited. We have the chance to land the top WR, TE, and QB in the nation, and it could very well rival the 2002 class that Mack pulled in. Bennett has pro potential written all over him. After seeing the way David Thomas and Bo Scaife were used in the Rose Bowl, he must be excited about coming to Austin. A couple of nights ago he was on FSN and said he was leaning towards Texas. Fred Rouse stated that Texas is the leader right now, but he loved Alabama and is a lifelong Florida State fan. The two guys to watch for in this class, IMO, are Jamaal Charles and Jerrell Wilkerson. Wilkerson is 5'7, 200 and has the potential to be the next Metcalf. Charles was simply unstoppable for PA Memorial last year, and should see playing time as a freshman.
I'm ecstatic about Charles. I don't think he will have too much impact as a freshman, because he just doesn't have the size yet, but the guy was an absolute beast in high school. State-level speed and great moves; He will definitely continue the tradition of great Texas running backs.

Damn, I just wanted to talk about football recruiting, and a freaking insult fight breaks out....What happened? Did we run out of "yo momma" jokes? Did the "I'm rubber, you're glue" defense suddenly prove to be not of championship material? It's all silly. Continue the pissing match, but must it happen within the context of derailing a legit thread? Can't it go somewhere else, like out to the playground after the 3 o'clock bell?
You can never run out of yo momma jokes. There is usually at least one good opportunity per hour to use one, if you're so bold. I particularly enjoy it when playing Halo 2 online, sucking, having someone tell me I suck, and then telling them "Not as good as your mom!" Anyway, back to football talk...
Even though, I miss College Football season so much already. I love the recruiting season. I'm a big Horns fan, so Mack Brown has made this time of year a lot of fun to watch. I hope that everything shakes out the way that it's been reported so far and I hope we get that WR from Florida. Are there any other big names that we are realistically in the running for? Are there any good free sites out there to follow recruiting?
