I get the feeling from the relative inactivity of the board that many posters have lost interest is the Rockets, essentially, they have given up on this season. Even the diehard-sunshine-posters don't seem that active. So, vote your mindset: still have hope or nope, you have given up.
I'm one of those sunshine posters but I gotta tell you...I don't know what to think anymore. I anticipate a win before every game. I've always been like that. But this is the first time in MANY years I can remember not being surprised when we lose. This is also the first time I don't have an excuse as to why we are losing. I mean, I know about the injuries but we shouldn't be this bad. I'm starting to lose hope.
i think they will get it together enough to at least beat the weak teams til yao gets back. besides LAC, dallas and SA everyone else is mediocre. we still got a chance.
exactly. I mean DEEZ NUTZ has been a longtime rockets fan, but I'm really not even surprised when we lose. I think that's the sentiment of many posters on this board. It's just not surprising when we lose anymore. We've lost to some ****ty teams that we should of beat, tmac or no tmac. IT is what is and that's a depressing season with little reason to hope for too much better.
Whether or not the Rockets make the playoffs or do well, I'm still a fan, so I'll be around. That being said, I haven't lost faith althought if we don't get well quickly, we may be lottery-bound at this rate.
It's still possible. If we can hang around 10 game under before Yao comes back, then we go on a 10 game winning streak, then 2 6 or 7 mini streak with a couple games loss in between, we will be right in the hunt before April. The goal is the NBA Championship, anything short of it is a failure.
Guys, we are only like 5 games behind for the 8th playoff seed and the season is still young. Don't give up, yet.
My screen name says it all! Just to clarify thta what I believe is Rox will make the playoffs, not the opposite. I just wish T-Mac can carry this team to at least 8 wins in Jan so we don't fall behind too far. when Yao is back, along with T-Mac, we'll be fine!
Looking at the schedule in January (16 games), I really don't see many winnable games with the way we have been playing. If we are lucky enough to come out with 6-10, that will make us 16-28. That's too deep a hole to climb out, even with Yao back, and TMac at full strength. 1/03 at Washington 1/05 at Cleveland 1/06 at Toronto (winnable) 1/08 vs Denver 1/10 at Charlotte (winnable) 1/11 vs Sac 1/14 vs NOK (winnable) 1/16 at Atl (winnable) 1/18 vs Dal 1/20 at Chi 1/22 at Det 1/23 at Mil 1/25 vs Cha (winnable) 1/27 vs Min 1/29 vs Mia 1/30 at Mem
SAC . . Cleveland. . .Denver. . . Chi. . .Mil and Min and Mem are winnable the others take some work Rocket River
I won't give up on these guys, there is still plenty of time to make a run, and the west hasn't been impressive this year apart from the spurs, mavs and grizzlies. I think it's wide open, if we can get healthy and get a little time to build some chemistry-we'll be the team nobody wants to play in the first round.
It's about time the Chronicle put a tombstone for the Rockets on the front page of the sports page. It's still too early to give up.
