I just happened to find this article while I was searching for any new draft news. There's even a little rockets mention with kenny smith becoming our new rockets coach 10 years from now. anyhow, here's the article, its worth a good laugh. By Mike Slane for HOOPSWORLD.com Jun 17, 2005, 00:06 Have you ever wondered about what the NBA may be like ten years from now? Which young players now will be All Stars and which players will end their careers in Europe or become the next Shawn Kemp or Isaiah Rider? Will there be another LeBron, or will an age limit restrict any young players from skipping college to go straight to the big bucks? What team will be the next dynasty? There are a million questions that could be asked and I guess we’ll just have to wait and see, but for now here is what I imagine… The date is June 5, 2015. Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Finals is about to tip off. At what may be the last game ever to be played at Madison Square Garden, the New York Knicks, led by 12 time All Star LeBron James, will try to win their fourth consecutive Eastern Conference Final against the Charlotte Bobcats. The Bobcats will try to reach the Finals for the first time in the franchises 11-year existence. Courtside is filled with many of today’s hottest celebrities including all 40 members of G-Unit along with Dave Chappelle, who finally came out with the much-anticipated season 3 of the Chappelle Show, as well as many others. I am sitting at home watching the TNT pre-game show as Ernie, Allen, and Shaq are discussing which players to look for in the game before shifting their focus to what has happened to Latrell Sprewell in the last couple months, which I will get to later. Shaq and Allen Iverson are new to the TNT crew after Charles Barkley became the Governor of Alabama and Kenny “The Jet” Smith became the new head coach of the Houston Rockets. The Knicks win a close game with a score of 102-99 and advance to the Finals eventually losing to the Denver Nuggets in six games, as newly acquired Marvin Williams brings home the MVP trophy after averaging 35ppg in the series. Many of the players from ten years ago are long gone from the NBA, some are playing ball overseas, and others are still active in the league whether they are playing out their last few years or involved in other ways whether they are coaching or a member of a teams management. Many European players that seemed to have potential ten years ago are back in Europe, and the only time we get to see them or even hear of them is during the Olympics. The last time I think I even heard the name Darko Milicic was during the 2012 Olympics in New York. I wonder what Nikoloz Tskitishvili has been up to for the past 10 years. Players retiring this year include Kevin Garnett (who has never won a championship), Steve Nash (the all-time leader in assist), and the NBA’s oldest player Kevin Willis (who finally decided to retire at 53 years old). Tim Duncan is the General Manager of the San Antonio Spurs, who are now coached by Avery Johnson. Gary Payton coaches the Seattle Sonics, and Nick Van Exel is assistant coach of the Nuggets alongside Dan Issel. Some players not only ruined their careers, but also their lives in the past few years. Latrell Sprewell invested all his money into rims, but later discovered that not everything stays in style and eventually became broke and struggles to “feed his family.” Ron Artest now weighs 350 lbs after he left the league to continue his music career in 2007. He tried to make a comeback with the Las Vegas Hornets, but was too slow to play the same type of defense that once made him an NBA All Star. The only time Ron can be seen playing ball nowadays is at the Rucker a couple times throughout the summer. Speaking of the Rucker, The Entertainment Basketball Classic is now owned by the NBA and can be seen on ABC on Saturday afternoons. A lot has changed in the past ten years. Players will always come and go and dynasties can only last so long. But no matter what changes in the NBA world, one thing will always remain the same—the game will always go on (well considering this Collective Bargaining Agreement doesn’t cause another lockout similar to the one in 2005).
and did so winning game 5 on a last second shot by Robert Horry giving him 11 rings. Horry then retires and co-stars along side Will Smith in a remake/sequel to Parent Trap.
Jersey sales across the country are down, but for some unknown reason, Transylavania has been a hot bed for Yao Ming Jerseys.
