The Rocket Parts:* The Houston Rockets have been active, but word is their asking price on players is very, very high. As one executive classified it; “they are asking the moon for role players”, but it is clear that Courtney Lee, Jonny Flynn and Terrence Williams all could be had.

League sources also say that Jordan Hill and Chase Budinger are also obtainable players, but what Houston is looking for from those guys is way too much.

The Rockets would love to add a serious small forward to the mix and have labeled point guard Kyle Lowry and shooting guard Kevin Martin all but untouchable.

League sources say the team would part with Luis Scola if it returned a serious upgrade at the four, but given how rocky the season has been for Scola, his value is low but his price tag is high.

Houston seems to be banking on a team in panic-mode overpaying, so while there are Rockets that are available, a deal with Houston may take time, simply because the prices are too high.

Surprised to read that they believe KMart is untouchable. Anyone is available for the right price; especially KMart.

i like how everyone in houston thinks martin is worthless. Few stars play D, and if everyone could score 20 pts, there would be more than 10 guys doing it.

having said that, everyone has a price! hopefully he goes to contender so he can help them win same with luifa.

I think the reason Kevin is kinda untouchable is cause he still our best scorer and next season he's expiring. Depending on what whats between now and then, Martin could be an amazing 2nd option so we could probably resign him. Martin is good and even though I really dont like him, he has a good contract on him for what he does. Scola on the other hand looks like he's aging much faster than Martin and probably wont get any better than he is now.

As far as I can recall, not one source has EVER gotten what Morey has been up to before the trade went down, not a single one.

I think Morey floats some stuff out in a PR manner, but keeps what he is really doing so close to the vest that no one knows.

The last scoop I can remember was when CD was here and some guy overheard someone talking about getting Steve Francis on his cell phone in the mall.

Otherwise, no one has broken anything in regards to trades etc......

So, being that this is Hoopsworld, and the fact that Morey is tight with his punanni.....no street cred from the DDster.

The most interesting part of the article for me was this:

lee is gone at the end of this season unless drastic changes in the roster occur before the offseason. If we could move Lee for the protected 1st round pick that Minnesota has coming to it as well as other considerations, I think you have to consider it.

Personally the Martin to the twoves idea just makes too much sense to me. At this point, if the twolves are willing to give up Williams for a Martin centered deal, then they might be able to get into the playoffs.

Carl, Im suprised that you would post a thread based on what Bill Ingram wrote. The guy is far from being a reliable source, although what he wrote is far from being an educated guess.

-Last week Ingram went on 1560 the game, and said that he had an agent tell him that Courtney Lee has asked the front office for a trade. I personally tweeted Courtney for a response to that which he said couldnt be further from the truth.

However, what Ingram writes isnt completely false. Yes, we all know that Morey values the Rockets players much higher than other GM's around the league value them, but isnt that common knowledge anyways.

Thats one good thing about him as a GM IMO. He should ask the moon for his players in trade. You shouldn't trade just to trade. The guy gets knocked for being a gunslinger and then gets slaughtered for asking too much in a trade for them.

Also its common knowledge that Morey would like to get something back for the 09 draftees. Why would he look at 14 million dollars in expiring contracts, and players not coming back next season as not having value in trades.

-Pretty much Bill Ingram is a Bleacherreport.com quality poster who calls himself a journalist and claims to have sources on the inside. The guy is a joke, and its a shame that he trys to call himself an "old-school" Rockets fan while he consistently tries to create a smear campaign against the team.

Hoopsworld is a crappy source. Have they ever broken any news or been right on anything?

Well at least it's not Bill Ingram, but...
