Never ever again will I ever piss money down the drain for a rent check..... I bought a 1/1 630 s.f. condo in Midtown and Im closing in a month. Im going to totally remodel the place, and the price was good so Im actually paying alot less than I was in rent. Great location and sweet view of downtown! How sweet it is!
Congratulations. 630 Sq FT? Now that I moved from the heights to cypress I think I have a closet larger than that. Home ownership rocks. Here's hoping your property goes up in value like my heights home did.
Drewdog -- how did you get comfortable with a condo in midtown having a decent resale value? That ultimately is the main determinant as to whether you are saving any money as compared to leasing a place. The condo market is just downright scary right now IMO, especially with all the cookie-cutter units going up and the over-inflated pricing environment.
Congrats, man! There is nothing like paying your own mortgage instead of your landlord's mortgage. Now every time you pay your mortgage, you actually own a little bit more of something than you did the previous month.
Congratulations - must be nice to be able to remodel and finally screw things into the wall and everything else they always tell you not to do. Wow, our posters are growing up so fast... It does sound kind of small, but whatever floats your boat...
One day, you guys will hear about me getting a place right infront of Minute Maid Park, then you'll hear me complain about all the people and traffic during the season when I realize what a mistake that was.
After your first complaint I would just introduce you to some of my 'friends' who have an 'establishment' up the street. Trust me, you won't be complaining about anything after that.
Kinda by the old Spur 527. Its an older complex, but its all about location in that area. Just needs about $5K in upgrades, and the place will look like brand new. Im going to do hardwood laminate, tile, granite counters, paint, and hopefully hook up a washer/dryer somehow. Otherwise my girlfriend will be doing all my laundry.....
Congrats. Though 620 sf sounds small, as long as you're happy, that's all that matters. The townhome I just bought this month in the Galleria area is 2200 sf. Being single with that much space is just nuts!
You know, I was thinking the same thing the other day... I only found out about ClutchFans.net back in 1999, but that's 6 years - you've been here longer as the estrogen source. People have gone from being in jr. high to college in that period of time. lol. wow.
No it ain't! Approximately 2950 sq. ft. here... still debating what to do with the upstairs cave - pool room or media room. Hmmm... Oh, and congrats Drewdog.
