Does anyone have an experience painting interior of a home? How hard/frustrating would this be. I need to repaint the entire interior, basically, including doors, molding, trims, cabinets, cielings, etc. of my home - about 3,000 sq. feet - 99.99% interior. I'd prefer to avoid paying someone thousands to do this. On the other hand, it would just be 2 to 3 of us max doing the painting, which could therefor take a long time, we've never done it before and if I can find a reliable, high quality, fair priced painter, I'd be willing to pay.

Should I paint myself or hire someone?

Can anyone reference me a good, fair priced painter?

    Thanks.

I've painted the walls and trim of my house inside several times. If you get the supplies and a friend or two, it goes pretty fast. The hardest part is the tedious work of painting trim and hard-to-reach areas.

You might consider doing the walls and ceiling yourself and then hiring a company to come in and do the detail work. Given the size of your house, it would probably go a lot faster.

We had our house painted inside including trim, doors, etc. and it took the contractor like 5 days to paint the entire house that was like 3 or 4 of them going for most of the day. Just be careful not to underestimate just how long it actually take. Also if you have never painted before remember that the job you do will likely not be near the quality of somebody who paints for a living, not sure what quality of work you are looking for.

Whether you do it yourself, or have someone else, use a Sherwin Williams product called Incredicoat on your trim (assuming its white enamel).

The stuff is expensive, but the results are worth it.

I've done two rooms of my house myself and i'll never do it again. I'd hire a pro.

Good advise so far. For those going the pro route, if you know of anyone good, I'd love to get thier contact info.
