Over Thanksgiving I was eating a plate of leftovers and decided to splurge and have a dr. pepper LOL.....all while reading the posts in the hangout. I had a 20oz glass and it had enough for one last drink but I wasnt paying attention and knocked the glass over; spilling the sticky dr pepper onto my laptop keyboard. I turned the notebook off as soon as possible and dried it out; thinking that i had just ruined a dell. Fortunately, everything works but these keys are extremely sticky. I thought that they would eventually work themselves out but it hasnt worked yet. After everyone gets a good laugh from the thread title and inserts joke here ......I could use some advice on what to do to remedy this situation.
Very small amounts (at a time) of denatured alcohol on q-tips maybe? If the keys come off, and snap back on... that may work. Just so it evaporates quickly.
LOL. Sure. uhh try running a baby wipe or damp napkin over it then running moist q-tips between the keys. Hope that helps...
Does the keyboard come off? Believe it or not when this happened to Apple desktop keyboards, we would wrp the USB port in Saran Wrap and run them through the rinse cycle on the top rack of the dish washer... Not sure if you could do that with a Dell laptop keyboard though...
