I am looking to install either laminate flooring or bamboo flooring throughout my whole house. I have carpet now.

Do you have a flooring contractor that you can recommend? I am looking for someone who is affordable and reliable at the same time.

Also, any suggestions on going laminate versus bamboo?

    Thanks.

You need to state what area you live in some contractors have a travel time and area they will work in.

If you're looking for cheapest, laminate is by far the best way to go. Plus it's a floating floor so it's easier to pull up...and easier to maintain. And just about anyone can install laminate because it's so easy to work with. Bamboo looks great but it's gonna cost you.

You might try engineered hardwood, which is what we got. In terms of price it's between laminate and hardwood, but looks just as good as the real thing.

In terms of contractors you probably can't go wrong with Spring Carpets or Jack's Carpet.

So says the wife, who works in flooring.

research the bamboo, it can be soft and scratch very easy. especially if you have kids or dogs.
