for some reason My blu ray DVD player(LG BD390) and Onkyo receiver(ht-s9100thx) seem to be having some sort of problem. When I switch over to the input for that and power on the blu ray player the LG start screen comes on but as soon as it would go to the menu screen, the TV goes blank except for a box that says searching for signals, and the blinks to the same box saying weak or no signal.

The blu-ray player is on, and the LED display shows that it is on the home menu.

After about an hour of doing this two days ago someone came over to my house. I was going to show them what was happening, but it all of a sudden worked that time. It worked for the rest of that day, but powering the up the system yesterday, and it didn't work then, or since then.

I'm wondering if it might be a bad HDMI cable and maybe replacing that will do the trick.

Has anything like this happened to anyone else? Anyone have any ideas that might help, or be able to troubleshoot this problem?

    Thanks.

Does your tv need a firmware update?

I had a similar issue that my Sony LED didn't recognize my WDTV but it was to do with the bad HDMI connection. I had to wriggle it around so that it's connected and receiving signals.

I'm not sure if I can do a firmware update on my tv. I guess I will try and get a new hdmi cable today and see if it helps. I'll try and see if I can return it if it doesn't fix the problem.

    Thanks.

Turns out it was a faulty HDMI cable after all. It wasn't the one from the receiver to the blu-ray, but from the TV to the receiver so that had caused problems with certain connections more than others. I replaced it, and everything is fine now.

should have spent 100 bucks on a Monster HDMI cable and you wouldn't have had those problems. They are totally worth it, also, I am an idiot but who cares I am rich.
