    so we are 8-1

remember last season we could not win at home

    15-26 was horrible

I'm hoping we can win at least 25 games home

This team should win 32-35 home games like all of the top seeds will do this year (Mavs, Spurs, Suns, etc.).

Come on! You are so conservative.

8-1 means 88.888888888888% winning percentage and it is equivalent to 37 out of 41 games.

I think we will have at least 30 wins at home. :D

The TC is a difficult place for opponents to play these days. It is not just the Rowdies, the energy and noise we have brought into the building is infectious and the rest of the crowd really seems to be responding!

Old adage: win at home, split on the road. We're doing that perfectly. The vain fan in me wants to say the return of crowd noise in Toyota Center has been the big difference at home.

All I know is, I'm really happy with how the season is going so far. Still have a full 4 months ahead of us. Here's to health!

Houston, not Toyota Center. There has not been this much noise in the Toybox since the playoff games against the Lakers a few years ago.

Good observation. All credits go to JVG for the Rowdies.

million $ question. Playoff games tend to sell out and people are generally more involved so they may not perceive that they'll need the Rowdies. But in my mind, they should reward the Rowdies that really make an effort to be at all the games, show up on time and generally contribute to the group. There are a few Rowdies that skip games, show up late and/or don't make much noise ...or worse, SIT down!!!

We'll see what happens in the playoffs. Even though the building will be louder, I think the Rowdies can still make a big difference.

btw, on the radio on the way home from the game, 610 Radio said they could CLEARLY hear the Red Rowdies chanting NOVAK with 11 minutes to go in the 4th. :D

I was sitting just behind them and to the right. They were definitely chanting Novak.

Worrell made a comment like "well, we know who the Rowdies want to see...." and Clyde (surprise) repeated it. It was VERY clear on TV. The camera zoomed in on Novak as he was coming off the bench after the timeout and he was laughing...probably at you guys.

Anyway, 8-1 at home is GREAT. Even when we won 55 games a few years ago, our home record was average. Keep it up, Rowdies.

As I posted in the game thread...

Coming up on the first quarter turn of the season, we need 1 win in the next 3 to be 1/4 of the way to +50 wins for the year. 3 wins and we are 1/4 of the way to 60.

We seem to play our best defense at home...it has suddenly become really hard for teams who come into TC to put the ball in the hoop. Opponent FG % in the last six games:

Chicago - 44.4% - Lost (again, inflated by Ben Gordon going nuts in the 4th)
    Memphis - 37.7% - Lost
    Washington - 33.3% - Lost
Minnesota - 46.2% (inflated by late 4th quarter comeback attempt) - Lost
    Cleveland - 28.2% - Lost
    Golden State - 39.0% - Lost

It is a good question. At the very least, they should be given a big discount for playoff tickets. I've been watching the games from Austin on LP, and believe me, you can hear the Rowdies!

To follow up, opponent assist totals for the last seven home games:

    Golden State - 11
    Cleveland - 12
    Minnesota - 18
    Memphis - 14
    Washington - 14
    New York - 15
    Chicago - 15

    League Average: 20.5

I'm not a Rowdie, but I'd be disapointed in the Rockets if they didn't get some of those guys (or girls) into the playoff games. I mean, I know they got season tickets and all, but still. The Rockets are getting something out of it as well.

You bet the Rockets are benefitting!!!! The atmosphere is like night/day from recent past seasons. More importantly, the Rockets have performed better ON THE ROAD the last few seasons. Suddenly this season we are playing better at home. COINCIDENCE?

But it comes down to $$$ in the end. The Rockets simply won't 'give' away tickets if they can sell them. They are, afterall, running a business. So we'll see.

I'm also curious to see what happens NEXT season if summer ticket sales are very strong. Will JVG ante up again next year?
