My a/c is out - damn, it's friggin' hot - and I need some recommendations if you have any. I've used Egan and Hinson and they've been good, but I want to check around in case it is something more than just a freon charge.

It will need to be someone that services the Heights area. Thanks!

Jeff I've used a guy named John with Cobra AC for years on my heights house.

    Always quick and inexpensive.

I have all my papers packed because we just moved but if you want his number I'll try to find it.

Man, I hear that. :( The A/C is out in a lot of the rooms in my house. My room is currently 81 degrees, and that is extremely hot for me considering I always have it set to 69 degrees.

I was going through some papers this morning and found a previous invoice.

    Cobra AC & Refrigeration Inc.
281-443-7306 - John is the owner and usually makes the calls himself when possilble.

Tell him you got his number from Mike on W. 17th

I have no connection to this company other than the fact that they worked on my old ac system numerous times over the past 6 years.

Thanks, VooDoo. I actually used a guy my dad recommended - Tracy with Greater Houston High Tech Mechanical Services. He was awesome.

Turns out a garden lizard got inside the unit and walked across the electrical contacts shorting out the wires. He replaced the wires and $95 later, my house is cooling down. :)

    Congrats.

Anytime you can walk away from an A/C visit less 100, you are on top my man.

Keep those filters switched out every few months or you'll be staring at a new evaporator coil and a $500+ bill.
