Was gone all day yesterday....got home and a/c was on...condenser fan running...air blowing out of vents...but was not cooling the house. So we turned it off. We packed up the kids and went to my parents' house to sleep overnight. I come back by this morning...and turned it back on to see what's happening with it. It's working just fine now. I have repair guy coming within the next hour...but does anybody know enough about this stuff to make a good guess as to why it had this problem yesterday...but not today??
So true, friend. So true. Take care of you and yours this day. I'm gonna check the ball bearings...because it's all ball bearings these days.
I just had a new AC put in my place inside and out and man is it nice -- spraying the attic with insulation on 8/13.
well lah tee freaking dah for you, mr. helper. your "advice" just saved me zero point zero dollars and zero point zero time. i can't exactly bask in the coolness of your brand new a/c straight through the internets from your place to mine. i hope the mayans have big hearts....otherwise, you're screwed, pal!!!
Did you look at the unit outside the house? That happened to us and it was a line running into the house had frozen over. I'm guessing it melted overnight and will run fine until you keep it on for awhile. I had to have something in the attic fixed (compressor, condenser?).
finally some real help...may the mayans show you mercy. yeah, i was guessing we had frozen lines as well...that's the only thing that makes sense to me now. how much did you spend fixing your problem, out of curiousity?
Dirty filters or condenser coils can mean not enough air passes through the cold freon so the water vapor around it freezes up and blocks any air movement. You shut it off and the ice melts. Change your filters and probably have the coils cleaned. I'm going to Durnago Co on Friday. It was 46 there last night and the high today is 79. We are going to ride the world's longest zipline ride the following Tuesday for our 35th Anniversary.
o look at you and your little "i'll pretend to be helpful so i can brag about my trip" post. pads the count, huh? why don't you ride the zipline straight to kiss my ass valley!!!!!
It's good to be me. (in my 76 degree house) I'm currently eating bacon and pancakes Bananas Foster too. Chris Isaak was great last night. I think I'll go have Sunday morning sex.
You're probably going to need some gauze pads.... And make sure youclean off all that gunck while you're in there
It might have frozen as others have said, or it might be the switch going out. There is a small relay switch on the outside unit that bugs can get into and short out, costs about $100 to get fixed, personally, I think it is a built in money maker for the AC people...but that is what goes out most often. DD
it's probably the spfitzer valve...could be the bypass line actually guy is here now...says we need more freon and to have the condenser cleaned with chemicals.
We don't need AC in Sweden. We've had high averaging between 70 and 75. It's a beautiful thing. Very, very beautiful. Only two more weeks though and we are back to the blazing pits of hell we call home
