Unless they end up hiring some great coach I agree 100%, the guy was doin an admirable job with the talent he had.

When I heard the news ... my first reaction was, what the heck? They're one of the top 5 defensive teams in the league and are headed for the playoffs. What a confused organization, indeed.

They're at .500 for the season, 7-5 this month (despite KG's meltdown which cost the two games), and currently the 8th seed.

It will be interesting to see where they go from here. If they can't keep their playoff spot, maybe McHale should consider firing himself.

Kevin McHale and Isiah Thomas are the two stupidest GMs in the NBA.

I can't believe I say this. If Garnett pulled a Scottie Pippen to force a trade, I'd side with him.

the only logical thing to me would be if garnett wanted him gone.

i wouldnt understand it, as casey had them playing better than expected, but that would be the only thing that would make sense w/ regard to his getting fired.

good luck getting into the playoffs now.

Through all this, I kind of wonder if Kevin Garnett is kind of .. well.. dumb. You would think he would be able to see that the TWolves are not going anywhere with their current management, so why would he want to stick with that organization? Usually when a player has a desire to stick with his team through tough stretches, it's because he has some confidence management will help him out. But this is clearly not going to happen in Minnesota.

So why does KG want to stay there? Because he feels a commitment to the fans? I guess that's admirable, but a poor career choice. KG needs to be demand a trade or he will join the ranks of all those other players that were considered great during their time but I'll be damned if anyone remember their names now.

If KG feels a commitment to the fans to stick with them no matter what, I think that should be commended in this day and age where athletes get criticized for having no loyalty.

I forgot but did KG and Flip Saunders clash? Because Flip looks like a good coach for them right about now.

I haven't read the Hollinger column yet, but I agree: this should be (and was supposed to be) a 25-30 win team. They're on pace for an over .500 season, and they think they can do better? With KG and 14 6-2 shooting guards?

mchale and zeke are two of a kind.

    - they don't know how to put a solid roster together.
    - in order to keep the heat of of themselves, they blame the coach.

i'm sure that KG had something to do with this. he said earlier in the season that the players don't really trust the coaches decisions.

    ----------

the owner or president there needs to get rid of mchale who was never able to pair a second scoring option next to KG. then, they need to trade KG for some nice young players. lastly, they need to rid themselves of long contracts like mike james, troy hudson, marko jaric, trenton hassell, and mark blount.

There have been many who have questioned why Foye is not seeing more PT.

JVG, take note: ignore V-Span at your own peril. ;)

Could you imagine what the GARM would be like if we had Foye and Gumby was doing to him what he is doing to V-Span??!! My head is about to explode just thinking about it!

it'd be exactly the same because people's heads are already filled with an image of billy that's bigger than what he is.

Actually I doubt it; since Spanoulis is from Europe, people automatically assume that he's a super smart, heady player who makes teammates better and blah blah blah and is the next Ginobili, despite that his game is driving and scoring (and TO'ing)

With Foye people would decry him as a ball-hogging, tweener, playground And-1 wannabe. I fear many bad Steve Francis comparisons in that alternate reality.
