Just a heads to soccer fans out there. It's a friendly match between the two nations. The game will be shown on Fox Sports Channel (previously known as Fox Sports World), Channel 110 on Time Warner Digital cable. Hopefully all the "stars" will be playing. My guess is that Van Basten will be playing a lot of the younger Dutch players to see how they do (especially with Van Nistlerooy and Robben injured). Anyways, should be a great match. Holland wins 3-2 ;) Peace.

Same time as American WC qualifying, and this is just a friendly, I'll pass. As far as stars go, England is supposed to give youngsters Stewart Downing and Andy Johnson run outs, and their starting center halves will be Wes Brown and Jamie Carragher, probably the sixth and seventh choice players. BTW, watch out for Manchester City winger Shaun Wright-Phillips who has pushed David Beckham from his favored right side to central midfield, the kid is going to be a stud..

Well, I am not at home but set up the vcr to record the Holland game because the quality of soccer is much better and Holland is one of my favorite teams. I route for the U.S. but for the most part their games are pretty boring as they don't have a style of play. They just sort of go through the motions and do whatever works, they lack in creativity and don't attack very much. They just sort of pass the ball around and try to explore weaknesses in the defense rather than play down the flanks and cross the ball or establish a midfield dominance and break through the middle. The pace of the games are very slow with very little attacking. Peace.

I heard SWP was playing on the left, which has always been a problem position for England.

He's playing on the right side supporting Owen with Rooney on the left in a 4-3-3.

    Lampard-Gerrard-Beckham
    Rooney SWP
    Owen

ok so i missed the first hour. My girlfriend wanted to see "Outback jack", and because she wasn't feeling to well i watched it with her(ok i sat next to her and read a book, i do have my principles).

so 0-0 surprising. dutch friendly's are seldom interesting. i hope the next half hour gives us some goals

I flipped it over a few times to see what was going on, it was odd to see Holland in those black and white strips, but they're for a good cause.

    0-0 FT.

Glad I watched the US match.

But he didn't displace Becks on the right. Sven switched formation.

Luckily I got to watch both. But even more lucky that I got to watch the USA game with sound. The England/Holland game was a real yawner.

I finally got to watch the game last night. It wasn't a very good game as neither team was attacking. England should be dissapointed to draw at home most of their big name players in the lineup while Holland had lots of young talent. Wright-Phillips is very quick but his size limits him because he get pushed off the ball very easily, but he is dangerous on the run with the ball b/c of his quickness. For Holland, Castelan looks very good. Anyways, just good to see national team soccer again. Peace.
