The NFL owes the 49ers an apology, whether that would have affected the game or not. That was the worst missed holding call I've ever seen at any level, and if the NFL does not mention it at all, I think its a huge blow to the integrity of the Super Bowl. Yes, I'm serious.
Yup. Gotta make the plays to win the game. If you expect the refs to make a call like that at the end of the Super Bowl, you're crazy.
Crabtree should've acted more, maybe he would've gotten a flag. But he was trying to make a play can't fault him for that.
There never going to call that just like last second shots in Nba. The ball wasn't catchable either. The play was won on an all out blitz he just heaved it and prayed.
A ball has to be catchable before passing interference can be called. That was a good no call in the end zone
Question: Do you even understand the difference between holding and pass interference? Didn't think so.
They should owe an apology to the Ravens as well then for obvious PI missed in the 1st quarter. (forgot who was pulling on Torrey Smith's jersey)
if the refs threw a holding flag on the safety the 49ers would have declined it. they're not going to allow Baltimore more time to run off the clock.
you are upset about the non-call holding on the safety play? you realize it would still be a safety right? No time would be left either way. I agree they could have called holding on the 4th and goal play against the Ravens.
Holding in the endzone equals safety. Would have had more time on the clock, but I doubt it would amount to anything.
i know it equals a safety, it doesn't make a difference. refs are not going to add more time at the point of the hold. the seconds still tick off.
Would you have made a thread like this asking for the NFL to apologize to the Ravens if they had lost cause of 2 halftimes?
Pretty petty complaint. What would the NFL apologize about? San Fran still would have most likely lost the game.
It was a win/win for the Niners to take a penalty there. So they did it. The officials missing it didn't change anything although it does speak to their ineptness. Thats a problem the rules committee needs to look at. Maybe in the future, they add time back on the clock in similar situations.
Come on dudes. They don't add more time to the clock. It would still be the same amount of time on the clock. I'm pretty sure the Raven's coaches knew this and told their players to hold if they need to. This is a really petty argument...especially since it would still need a legendary Hail Mary pass at the end to make any difference. Whiner.
