Schmidt and Vanderwal to the Giants for Rios and PTBNL. Surely Ward is worth more then Rios, right ? Maybe Gerry couldn't pull the trigger.

The Yanks will always make the big trades like that. Well... this year is the year that the curse will be broken. Mike Mussina was supposed to come in and make the Yanks unstoppable. In the meantime, the Red Sox manage to stay within 3 games of the Yanks, without the services of their 2 time defending batting champ shortstop, their Cy Young award pitcher, starting catcher, and All Star Centerfielder. We will see what happens in the post season.

Stros need to make a move. Seems like all the contenders are making moves to improve except us.

ur right wizard, the astros cant win it without another solid starter. Glendon Rusch would be awesome, Al Lieter would be awesome, and Pedro Astacio would......suck. but a last resort would probably be a todd ritchie

And of course the Yankees hitting woes will continue throughout the post season as well right? [IMG] Sorry to burst your bubble, but I see the Yanks getting another ring this year, and possibly every year until MLB wises up and puts a salary cap in place.

Anybody see that the Twins stole Rick Reed (3.48 ERA, 8-6, 99K)from the Mets for Matt Lawton (.290, 10 HR, 51 RBI). Surely the Astros could have given a better offer than this. We could have offered Ward, Elarton, Adam Everett, Ensberg, Truby, etc. The Mets really screwed this one up. Lawton is not the answer to their outfield problems, and they lost their 2nd best pitcher. I just hope we don't end up with some Pedro Astacio or Todd Ritchie.

If you look at the trades, the astros have been saying that teams have been asking way too much for their pitchers, but from what I've seen in this trading season, it's been just like a fire sale, they've been gettin good players for absolutely nothing.

Yep, it looks like Gerry has been very hesistant to trade Ward. The Cubs are making moves, I would recommend the Stros to make one also.
