I can just see the avalanche coming.

    The refs decide Dallas? Please.

Hit the damn free throws, we win the game. Take care of YOUR business.

We Rocket fans have a thing about refs. They are always against us, aren't they? Its all a big ole conspiracy. I can't wait til I hear the "big market" theory on this one.

Yes. The refs were awful. But the damn free throws cost us a chance to maybe advance. We miss SEVEN free points. Thats the difference.

I'd rather fight against the stupid refs than just let them continue the bs :)..I think a lot of people are pissed lol..Rockets didn't play their best..they should have..but refs screwed us pretty bad too. Haha too bad this would never happen but I wish every Rockets fan boycotted the NBA

Yao = Choker. I was just gonna say he's been amazing at the line hitting 84% this morning.

your right almu..finley standing out of bounds knocking the ball out of barry's hands had nothing to do with the result..great post..thank you..

Hey, TMac missed one. That was unfortunate. But did you know that Yao missed 5 FTs in the 4th when it counted?

Sure we would like to hit the free throws, but at the same time we also want fair opportunities to compete. In the games that the two teams are so evenly matched, sometimes one BS call could decide the results.

that was the game. the only reason Barry was holding the ball out like that was because he was aware, im sure, of being an inch or two from the baseline which from that point nobody can be in bounds and behind him and swipe at the ball. whatever

Missed free-throws are part of the game, no one is out there to miss them (save the last one by T-Mac)

The real difference was the offensive rebounds we gave up, if there is something that we should have had better control of, it would be that.

Almu, you can't let the refs off that easy bud.

and I never blame the refs. There are many games where the winning team will miss a lot of Fts in the 4th and still win because the right calls were made.

Granted the Rockets blew many free throws in particualry Yao.

But c'mon call a fair game down the stretch. To blame this all on free throws is something JVG should tell the team. As a fan watching the game, $#% ya its partly the refs fault, the rockets had no margin what so ever for error .

exactly, if barry would've just hit his free throws, that would've been our ball.

my first reaction was i was pissed that barry got it stolen, then all of a sudden i thought "wasn't he standing almost right on the baseline? how could someone have knocked that away from behind?" and sure enough it was illegal. but hey, i guess we should just overcome everything, even though the mavs never have to. i have a deal, just give the mavs 10 points right at the beginning of the game, then ref it fairly. it would be better than losing the 10 at the worst possible times.

Dallas missed FT too. We didn't lose on that. It happens. We lost because the refs turned the whole game in the last 2 minutes with one lousy call. They gave Dallas 2 extra possessions and a 4 point swing. That is an up hill battle. The ref took the game from the Rockets and gave it to Dallas. Someone should blow that picture up of Finley and hang it from the compaq rafters right next to the banners. Sickening.

You cannot have a guy in this league who dominates like Shaq and also shoots FTs.

this was the real difference maker. yes, the refs sucked. yes, they blew two crucial calls down the stetch. but yao and mcgrady both missed crucial freethrows down the stretch, and how many open looks did the mavs get while we tried to figure out our rotations in the fourth quarter? and rebounding, particularly on the offensive end, has been this team's achilles heel. did the refs cost us the game? maybe. should we have been in that position in the first place? no.

Understand, we had a 4-guard lineup out there. That was the only way to come back. Unfortunately, it leaves no rebounders on the court.
