Somebody backed into my car in a parking lot, no cameras, no witnesses. A police officer saw me examining the damage and I filed a report, but there's no way they'll find the guy so now I'm worried that when I re-up or possibly switch my insurance at the end of this month, my rates will go up because this is on file.
how bad is the damage? can it be repaired without using paint (just dent)? do you have pics? if the repair is under your deductable, do it yourself.
Someone hit my car today too, the fool didn't even leave a note. Luckily it's just the bumper, it already had a previous hit on it, though this hit has scraped the paint and left marks( deep scratches) from the top to bottom of the bumper. I feel your pain.
It's like 2 tennis ball sized dents, one in the bumper, one in the rear door/gate (it's a minivan). I wasn't planning to file a claim, but with the police report out there, won't that count against me even though I was the victim?
Déja Vu? Didn't someone here post the exact thread a while back (maybe 4 days) and say their buddy was going to fix their hoop-T after the hit-n-run they offered??
no, how would that count against YOU? YOUR the victim, and YOU filed the report. YOU can do what ever you want with the police report. it ends and starts with u.
File an uninsured motorists claim. Its a "not at fault" claim and shouldn't affect your rates one bit.
exactly 2 days ago and i believe the person was yoursecretlover and his friend is going to fix his car next weekend
sheesh. This seems to be happening more and more! There's gotta be a better way for victims of this crime to respond/retaliate against this!
if you've got the coverage in your plan. you already filed the police report immediately, so you're on the right path. i don't know if there's a deductible, so if it's that small, it might not be worth it.
