I thought that was a great nice documentary. I did not realize the person who first proosed that the earth revolved around the Sun was a priest(Copernicus) and the person who came up with theory of big Bang was a priest as well! So if the universe is expanding, when will it run out of gas? Would it then go back to one point in another 13 billion years?
Big Bang pretty much proves the existance of God, which is why I chuckle sometimes when adament "anti-God" types (most athiests are chill, but those fanatics...grah) use it to try to somehow further thier view that science is supreme XD
Yes, one of the Pope was all over big bang. However, big bang only means there is a god but not necessarily a Christian or Muslim or whatever god we have from various religions.
The universe is expanding at an acclerating rate, so there's no indication to predict that it will ever go back to one point.
Where did you get that it is expanding at an acclerating rate? The show says initially it was expanding so fast that is much faster than the speed of light, but now it is something like 134 miles/sec (unless i remembered wrong).
It says if the universe is not expanding, our sun and the planets would come together, so I hope it doesn't stop anytime soon!
Ya, could be a god that could care less about some lowly beings living on some tiny planet called earth.
Well, I wouldn't worry about the universe 'shrinking' or 'folding' any time soon. Now about those rising sea levels that could flood entire coastline towns in the next century or so ...
