I found a box of old 8mm films in a house I was tearing down . I don't have a projector but looking at some of the first few frames of each roll it looks pretty interesting . They are from the 30-40's and in color ,look to be in good shape . The people in the films seemed to be pretty well off and a lot of the movies seem to be of yachting in exotic locations . One thing interesting I found was a reel that was labeled "Florida march 41" Looking at the first few frames I can identify some very good footage of a destroyer named USS Benson , so I did some research and found this : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USS_Benson_(DD-421) I've seen some old grainy footage of Roosevelt fishing and I'm really curious if further into this film I might have some new footage of this destroyer and possibly Roosevelt on this fishing trip . So anyways ...... was just curious if anyone here has any experience with old film ? Was thinking of buying an old projector off e-bay but would hate to do anything to damage these films . Have really no idea what to do if this is something rare or maybe even valuable ?

That sounds pretty cool! There might be place around Houston where you can rent instead of buy. Maybe even turn the film into a digital copy.
