I guess there's more than Nabeel Da Real Deal after all.

Aw hell, there goes the neighborhood...

(nice video, thx for sharing... the amount of Western influence in India over the last 20-30 years is incredible. On the flip side, the influence south asians have had in Western culture like music and fashion is also pretty incredible).

This would have been a much cooler premise for Slumdog Millionaire:

"B-Boy from the slums of Mumbai wins 'So You Think You Can Dance'!"

I always though it funny when I would be walking the streets in Coimbatore and someone would be jamming 50 cent. Just didn't seem to fit the surroundings.

I'm guessing he meant more so in the UK and Canada, rather than the US. It's definitely growing in the US as well, but Canada and especially the UK are way ahead of us.

It's more in women's fashion, but things like harem pants have come back in style in the West very recently. Tunics (kurtas) have been in women's fashion since the 90's as well and has been a mainstay. Alot of the designs and floral patterns that you see in Indian fashion is emulated on US clothing prints as well. Also you see mehndi (henna) tattoo shops in alot of cities.

In music there is alot of bhangra influenced hip hop beats being made that is played in NYC, Paris, London dancehalls/clubs and other cosmopolitan cities.
