So I'm trying to learn hip hop dancing and top rocking to take to the dance floor to splatter my competition. I've gather a hugh amount of instructional videos on the subject and notice they do quite well on sneakers.

My Yao Ming high post sneakers are having too much traction and I can't spin and slide properly. Please give suggestions on shoes appropriate for hip hop dancing.

I'll teach you how to C-Walk and how to do the Harlem Shake. For shoes...any reasonable casual white shoes would do. If you really don't have a clue...try the Reebok Pressure Mids. Those are the cheap alternatives to AF1s. It also depends on if you wanted to dance with a group or by yourself. Give us some more info. :D

Thanks bro, that was good stuff.

So far I'm able to do some of the easier routines, need to work on my timing and grooves. The good stuffs from Freestyle and You Got Served I'll work on later.

Just watch American Bandstand and learn how to do the The African Anteater Ritual.

Two things you can do that will give you plenty of slide. One take some felt and cover the part of your sneaker covering the ball of your foot, and if you need to, also the heel.

Get bowling shoes that look like sneakers. They have them for under $50 and the bottoms are great for dancing on wood floors and giving the proper amount of slide.

You sir have a devastating wit, chick magnet class of humor. I haven't seen the ritual and yet can't stop laughing.

Oh yeah, if you have limewire, go download some videos of c walking or harlem shaking. It's easier to just watch and learn. I wouldn't do these "you got served" moves just yet cause u gotta understand the basics first.
